Happy Graduation Sarah!

My cousin Sarah graduates our equivalent to high school today! GO GIRL!
I'm totally crashing that party, just like I did her brother's two years ago. Or crashing and crashing, mom's invited and I'm going with her. It's perfect weather for a graduation, and the heat-wave that was promised is here! Yesterday it was 19-20C (~68F) in the shadow. Today the forecast speaks of temperatures reaching 23C (~73F) and at a quarter to 8am it's already really warm out. I supposed the congregations for sober youth is a bit displeased, this will mean sooo many more drunk kids on town, but I just don't care. These kids are all legal since they turn 19 this year.
Next weekend it can be a sunny day, but pour at night. That's when the lower schools graduate =) My sister's little sissy-princess have decided to wear her flowergirl dress to her graduation, since it's white and she loves it. She'll be adorable! It's her first graduation, I remember mine, it was all exciting and beautiful and it was SUMMER! Where did they wondrous feeling go?

I'm pondering what to wear... I mean, lot's of my old tops will work in a month or so, when my belly pops and pup is visible to the world. But now I only look chunky... OK, it looks great if I pout, but then I also look 7 month preggie... Dilemma... I-country problems....

Puppy-talk...
I saw the cutest darn baby-slippers yesterday. For the first time, I entered the baby section of our local KappAhl. Or first time, but first time since I got preggie, first time looking for myself, not other's babies.
A was with me (I decided to be social...) and she said the mom's often "feel" what sex they carry... I haven't heard that much enough to think it was common... And still, I don't care. If I imagine getting a boy, it feels 100% right, but if I imagine getting a girl, it feels the same way...
Didn't buy those slippers, though they were adorable, and I'm sure they would be very practical when November comes around, but I am very sure that baby won't lack clothes... Baby-sick grandma's, that's all I'll say... They were however the cutest dark shade of murky forest green.

I spent half that day with A after that. We went to the IKEA-tent. We don't have IKEA here, but they came with a lorry and set up a temporary tent-sale right next to the pedestrian street in the middle of the town. I was only getting some storage boxes... Let's just say, I got some more stuff than that... =)

We also tried on half of the womens clothing on KappAhl. Just for fun, just in case we'd find something great. Ended up deciding A might join us to Stockholm for shopping June 9.
Then foodhunting, that resulted in us going back to her place in Godby (faaaar away, 10 minutes by car...) and eating at a grill out there (since it was after 6pm when we realized food, everything was closed in town) and then just hanging out at her place talking anf giggling.
She returned a dress I gave her a few years back (when it was getting too big for me) and it fitted me perfectly. It's the model I'm looking for now, so I'm pleased, now I only need to find me a short one (this one is floor length) and I'm all set for the summer!

Friday! finally...

Sunny skies, the forecast talking about a heat-wave for the weekend... Sounds nice! If only I had a yard to enjoy it in. Need to go out to moms place, or something.

Yesterday was aquagym.class, after a few weeks of slouching... It was nice, my body felt good in the water, I've missed it. Pup/belly felt really funny... usually I have no belly in the water, and now whenever I was jogging or jumping or whatever, my belly kept touching my thighs.

Really slow day at work today, and one of the others already worked herself up into a rant. PHEW, she's been here for less than half an hour and is already edgy... Because we all know how the menace acts when there is no work... All whine, no shutting up...

I got some dishes done yesterday, yay me, but not all of them. I'll do them tomorrow or Sunday, I think, if not inspiration strikes hard and I end up doing them tonight... Doubt it though =)

sorry...

Sorry I've been absent! I've been too tired lately to start the big 'puter up, and if I did, I could only muster some quick catch-up surfing and then I was done. No inspiration to write anything...
I feel like reading. And have nothing to read. So I gave "Wide Awake" another chance. Still not sure I like it. Whatever, I read while I watch TV. I finished chapter 14 last night. So, I guess I'm not all that caught up, since it took me three reading sessions to get that far.

I'm hoping to be more active in the weekend, cross your fingers for me ;)

plans?

Things don't go according to plans... I had planed to get some cleaning done yesterday. HA!
First, I wake up late (not strange since I left M's house around 1:30AM), around 10 or so. D called when I was in the bathroom, so at least he didn't get the pleasure of waking me up =D Then I called my sister and made my way out there. I took the car sine it was raining, and biking in the rain is no good when they still haven't invented windscreen wipers for glasses...
I was there for maybe three hours, and on my way home, E called. She wondered if we should take a movie-day in the awful weather. OK. I went home, packed some dvd's and took the route by the store to collect some movie-candy (bad me, I know) and ice cream (even badder me, I know...) and well, long story short, I came back home at a quarter to 11PM. Just managed to fall asleep when D called and asked me to come pick him up.
It was nice to have him next to me, even if it was just for one night, and he returned to the boat this morning. He'll be on until next Sunday night now. Then, next Monday, we're going to the ultrasound. I can't wait to see the pup for real.

Today I have to do the dishes, but I don't wanna *pouty-face*
The sun is shining outside and I am so longing to have a yard, or garden, or whatever that needed some care and attention. I mean, we have a little square of lawn outside the house here, right behind the dumpsters... And right under some of the neighbours balconies. It's just not nice. It feels silly to go out there with a book to read, because it becomes such a project. Everything you might expect you might need, you gotta bring, because you can't leave the stuff there if you gotta run in after somethign. *SIGH*

the msn date...

LOL
How is it that the one of my lexlings that lives closest to me (except for Maria), only one timezone away, is never online when I am? We actually had to plan an msn date to be able to chat each other up....
It was hilarious, as always, I felt all happy and giggly afterwards (and hungry, it got late...) and poor Becca got to be ball plank for all my upcoming fanfic's...

Puppy-talk...
Got me a pair of mama-jeans today =D found them at the second hand store of choice (the one and only) and they are used, but it's jeans so it only improves the look and they only cost me 6€. YAY They're a size smaller than the green baggy pants I have, and I guess that's why they are so baggy, L was a perfect fit (same brand btw). So now I don't have to panic every Monday morning over which pants to wear to work, since I've outgrown my gym/sweatpants.

D's dad called, just because. He wondered how I was, if I was thriving and growing... LOL. I told him "like weeds" (now, weeds as in the stuff you don't want growing in your garden or plantations) Seriously, I've gained way too much weight, and have no idea of how to stop it. I need to exercise, that's the core of the poodle, but there is nothing going on from now until the middle of September... SUCKS!

sunny day

Last night continued to be a blast after my blogg-break. We left work early... ha ha, but there was about half of the party people left there, they were mostly standing around talking or fiddling with the stereo though. And I mean fiddling like high school type... pressing next, waiting until the song had started to play properly and then pressed next... for 7 songs straight... then played one song and started all over again... UGH!

We didn't make it to the nightclub before midnight, but I guess we knew that beforehand, some stuff (and drunk people...) made it take a bit too long getting there. I still had the worst training ache in my tummy, it was hard, like solid, all night. I just went up to the apartment and dropped my things (and kissed D a little) before joining the others. No need to park the car outside the nightclub when I live 5 minutes of crawling distance away.

Not so much people out, just the way I like it. But when did they decide to let kindergarten-kids in? Come on! They were so small! I cannot believe the lot of them were legal!
Had it's perks though... Small kids don't dance easily, too afraid to look silly =) So more room for me.

J got a thorough workout, trying to prevent me from being pushed around on the dancefloor, at all. That is an impossible task but his effort was tremendous! He's the sweetest!

Puppy-talk...
J and the rest of the lot I work with found it relaxing to be able to have an easy explanation to why I don't drink, I never realized haw many people actually ask them behind my back why I don't drink. Why "I don't particularly like it" isn't a viable explanation beats me. They gladly informed all who even mentioned me drinking, or tasting anything, that I was preggers =)

At the club I had some shots... 3 of them being ice-shots with yellow, green and red juice (pineapple-something, apple and cranberry) and the last one being a straight coke-shot. I adore those guys! Totally hilarious. I haven't laughed this much in ages.
Or danced! Me and pup did get a full workout last night, that's for sure. I was shaking our bodies on that floor for a total off an hour, maybe an hour and a half. It's hard to tell when the people you dance with keep needing to go out and smoke, go to the bar and buy drinks, the bathromm etc...

When everything was said and done, the music stopped and the club closed, I walked with J to the afterparty. Well, we began walking as a group of 5, then the two first got deeply involved in discussion and, well, we kinda tried to ditch guy #5, only to meet another co-worker and get caught talking in the middle of the street. Sudenly a stranger was involved too. LOL. J finally got to his party and I wandered home. It was a nice little walk in the morning. Felt really, really good, I've had issues with myself for not getting out walking more. I was home at 4:15 AM...

bell rang at 6:30... I was supposed to drive D to work... lovely...
At least I got to go back to sleep afterwards. Woke up again around 10:30-11, and after porkin' some, made myself lunch and slouched on the couch.
Around 2ish I started to realize it was really nice weather outside, bright sunny skies and such. No day to be inside! I called up mom, and then took the bike there (little over 10km, took about 30-35 minutes) and it felt great. Once there, they were taking out the boat. R had fixed the little engine that's been unused since dad got sick, 12 years ago, and wanted to try it out. Mom's boat ain't big... With 3 (big) adults in it, we were very low in the water, and there were some waves... I was in the bow, and I was halfly soaked! Good thing I had brought mu water-repellant jacket!

After some hanging out, I biked home again, to slough some more... At least I did something!
Now me and pup are going to bed, early start again tomorrow. I keep being amazed with myself, lately I've started to sleep a lot on my tummy. I never did that before, and now I do it all the time. I thought most preggies quit that habbit because it got uncomfy, I just think it's the comfiest thing ever...
But then again... I am a dragon after all, I can't expect human ordinaries to apply to me ;)

how pathetic am I?

tonight:
Company party. Good music. Some good friends/co-workers.
What do I do? Update my blogg...
Why? Dunno...

Food was good. Live music great. The day over all was absolutely wonderful!
For the first time in ages it was fun to work, and the laughters more than the complaints. God, I've missed it. of course, we de-railed completely, utterly and totally...
My poor innocent little pup... Not so innocent any more...

My tummy is hard as stone and aching. I haven't laughed this much in ages, and I already have a training ache. I was on the verge of asthma attacks a few times, but managed it without meds.
Now I gotta get back to the party ;)
Oh. yeah, and just for the info, I'm sober so don't you worry about that.

looking for some inspiration...

It's an early morning here, and I have absolutely no inspiration to work, whatsoever...
Might have something to do with the fact that I don't have a clue to what I should do, maybe. I'll quit early today, have a dentist appointment at noon, so I guess there won't be much "real" work done...

Me and the (still not visibly preggie-)tummy still get along fairly well, though I keep having these streaks of pain, like when you overstrech a muscle, on the underside of my belly. Have to ask the nurse about that next time I see her.

week 15 + 6 days

that's how far along I am now. Tummy is starting to really obstruct my choice of clothes, all my hoodies are getting very tight around the belly. Well, not all of them, but the ones I use a lot...
Finding pants that's good to work in is also a chore. I mean, just because they were good a few weeks ago don't mean they work at all now...

I spent the sunny and warm part of yesterday at my sister's. She had the house full of kids (3 own, 3-6 'rentals') and the cat was full of mischief... I have two scratches and a bloody scar to prove that. I had a great time, I adore my sister and her family.
I was being good and rode my bicycle there, took little over half an hour. Slow... Pup is destroying what little fitness I had... But I guess I can live with that.

Hmm... this seems to be an all puppy-talk post... well, shim is on my mind constantly, so I guess it isn't so weird. I bought a preggo-paper yesterday. It said it had things you had to think about when getting the first pram for the baby. The info inside was crap. I enjoyed the reading though. A lot of stories about other peoples pregnancies and deliveries.

I've been really tired lately, but I think it's due to the sorting. This coming week will be better work-vise, but more hectic afterwards.
Tuesday we have end-party for the Judo kids, it will be great fun, but will take all night, so I can't count on getting anything done.
Wednesday we have a compnay spring/summer party. A good band will be playing, there will be food and such. Last years party was absolutely great, so I expect a lot of fun. I guess then all who don't know abot my pregginess will find out. Drinking seems to be mandatory at those things (not that I usually drink) and those who knows are certain to defend me when people bugg me to drink. I'm pondering what to wear, since we'll be outside (unless it rains) and I'll probably freeze, but then we'll most likely continue to the towns nightclub, and then I'll probably sewat to death...

Happy 14th Birthday Adde!

Wow!
He's all but out-grew me. I only have 6,5 cm left... it will be gone by the time the summer is over. And his voice have deepened... SCARY!
Little sissy-princess thinks/hopes my baby is a boy, and he can have all her sequin-dresses to play dress-up in... I think D would disapprove greatly if his son ever did anything such... My sister thinks it's a girl. I still maintain, I think it's a baby.
I had cake... and cookies... and some chocolate crackers...

The last practice with the kids went really nice. This is an old picture, but I still love it:

Puppy talk...
Pup's been really calm the last couple of days, or maybe I've just been tired. I try to "feel" what kind it is, but I keep coming up blank. If I consider a boy, that feels so right, perfect even. But if I vision a girl, it feels the same way...

Pup played a little trick on me this morning. Just after I had begun sorting, I started to feels SO sick, I almost threw up over the mail a multitude of times. I had decided to get the sorting over with and then go home. We didn't have any work, not really, so I didn't feel any guilt. And just when I'm done, it stops! Come on, did you pull that stunt just to taunt me? OK, so those pants really were uncomfy on my tummy, but they didn't stop being that just because I stopped sorting.

feeling blah... again...

I feel like a puppy left out in the rain. Once more, not sure why. Today was an overall good day, work was easy, not much stress. I was supposed to do some cleaning up when I got home, but then realized that there wasn't really much to do until the last of the clothes are put away. I'm doing that in the weekend. Then I had a stick-walking class. Sounds silly, looks silly too! Imagine, walking with a pair of ski-poles, looking like you forgot your ski's...
But still, I feel... lonely? Not the right word but I don't know what else to call it.
I feel ugly, sloppy, lazy... I bet it has something to do with my hormones running amok, but it doesn't really help. I feel wasteful because I kinda need to buy new pants, and I thought I wouldn't need to when I bought the belly-belt. The con is, I don't have any t-shirts long enough to cover the gap in the zipper... Not that works to work in at least.

Maybe I need to sleep some more, maybe I should try to take a nap tomorrow between work and coaching the kids. Especially since I have a 14th birthday party afterwards. My nephew... When did he get so big? It feels like yesterday he was small enough to hold in two hands. He was the first boy to steal my heart, his younger brother the second, and my niece the first girl.
They will all hold a piece of my heart forever.

health check

Today I had an appointment with the company's health-care company, to see a health-care'er or whatever it might be called in English. She's not a nurse, but something in that direction.
It was kinda fun, I was really looking forward to see what the tests would say, they were great the last time we had check-ups 2 years ago. But now I'm pregnant...
My results were still great! Sugar levels below minimum, same for liver value, I had almost no fat in my bloodstream, which apparently was a bit extraordinary (especially since I have quite a bit on the outside) and my cholesterol was also really low. The one thing that was high (for being me) was hemoglobin which was 136. Blood pressure was 115/55, she said it was great, on the lower side but great. Last baby-check I had 105/60, so one is higher and one lower.

Puppy talk...
After Maria's comment yesterday, I returned to my forums to check up a bit. Just 'cos I'm sure I've read that it isn't uncommon to feel the baby at the end of week 15. I checked a few and they were consistent that you can feel the baby from beginning of week 14 but there's nothing strange about not feeling it before week 22 either. They also said that re-birthers usually felt their babies earlier than newbies.

I'm sure of what I felt, then I don't know if it was the baby itself or the cord, but it was a movement inside my belly caused by, or caused as a reaction on a movement by my little pup. I'm used to pain and exercise (and I actually love to do sit-ups) so I have pretty good knowledge about the stuff my body does. I have felt flutters, like from butterfly wings, for a while, but I think that's from my pulse against the placenta or something like that, because it usually corresponds with me feeling my blood pumping a bit deeper in too.

I got a book from D's mom yesterday, "A child is made", a Swedish book that was state of the art when it was new (aka 1976...) but it felt really obsolete now... I need to go find myself a better book, they know so much more now than they did then. Like, a preggie-test could be done the earliest 14 days AFTER the period should have come... he he, things have changed. It also said a lot of things about mom's and dad's that were the way they were then, but that we kinda look down on today. The painkilling methods I had to laugh at. Well, not the methods themself, some still remain, but the use of them.

And the mothers and the babies are not allowed to sleep together. All babies in one room so that the nurses can take care of them easier. No need to even try to nurse the baby until at least 4 hours have passed after delivery, you won't have any milk anyway and so on and so on...
So much directly contradicted what you read everywhere today. Then, some stuff were exactly alike (well, the part that you give birth in the end obviously) and it was kinda funny to read, but not much of use, if you understand what I mean.

♥ mom

as so many girls, I feel I wanna give my mom some praise today. I did forget it earlier, being all caught up in pup-thoughts.
We did a mom-round today, first his mom, then his grandma and finally my mom. Mother's Day gifts consisted of enlarged wedding pictures of us. Ego? A little... but they have been requesting them for a while.

Puppy-talk...
I keep getting a bit worried about the delivery from time to time. Not the pain and stuff, I know it will be bad, and it won't get any better if I fret about it. I worry because if D get into the Coastal Guard, then he most likely he won't be home when the baby decides to arrive.
I need to talk to the delivery nurse about it next time I go there. If he's not home I guess mom will accompany me if she's not working, but still... I want my pooh there... And I don't want him to miss those first seconds of the new life we created together.

Happy Mothersday!!!

Today is a good day!

I went out dancing wit E and A yesterday, unfortunately we couldn't convince J to come along, but I guess everyone makes their own choices. It was a lot of fun, the band was GREAT! OK, so I knew they'd be, since they are one of my favorites, but I was curious of which singer they would bring. Turned out, they had hired the singer from the other favorite band I had, so it was really , really fun seeing her there. It was a bit different from what they usually do, but she pulled it of perfectly!
I went home early, because it was pretty much people out, and many of them dancing. No foul in that, but they were pushing on the dance floor... and using elbows... Me and pup alike do not approve of such behavior!

Puppy talk...
I felt the pup move this morning!!!! It was so awesome! I had been sleeping on my side and when I rolled over to my back I felt a sweep going down from about halfway up to the bellybutton and down to my pelvic bone. I'm completely starstruck by my little pup's awesomeness! I bet there have never ever been a baby with sparklier scales or brighter wings than mine

I was good today!

I walked a 5km race for girls only, along with my mom. This is a annual thing, and not the first time I do it. We decided to not to the long race, which would have been 10km, but after finishing we both felt like we could have done that, no problem.
I'll post pictures if they put them up on the web, or link a page if the newspapers write about it.

Puppy talk...
More and more people are aware of the pup's existence now, a cousin just messaged me on fb asking if a comment she had read, that implied I was expecting, was true. I guess I'll tell her, and then all the rest of my relatives will know pretty fast.
I wonder which on it was, gotta be pretty old if it only implied =) most of the lexily speak freely of my little pup now, I don't mind.
My mom got congrats the other night for becoming a grandma, from an unexpected source. In hindsight, not so unexpected after all.
I'm having the hardest time fitting in to any of my jeans, I keep laying half of my weightgain in my boobs and the rest divides between butt/thighs and tummy...

I'm not so mopey today, but it's still not good. We got some stuff moved, like the bad from the garage, and the two vaccuum zipplock bags from the living room, and --FINALLY!-- the last of the x-mas deco (well, they've been packed, but now the box is in the attic) so I guess it's a start.

Now I gotta stop procrastinating my dinner, time to go hunting... hm... leftovers from yesterdays dinner/todays lunch? I really, really didn't like it enough to eat it three times in a row. Food store next!

mopey...

don't really know why, maybe I'm just tired...
I just realized, it's a Friday night, and I've spent it alone on my cough (so, D is home, big deal, he spends his nights with the 'puter) watching a movie and feeling... useless?

Yeah, useless would be the word. I cannot make myself clean up the mess of a home I'm currently living in, probably because I have so much irritation about work. I need my work-space to be exactly my way, and tidy. Everything in it's exact place. The mess is a way for me to relax, to know I'm not at work anymore. But it's gotten a bit out of hand... Thing is, I don't want someone to "help" me clean up, because then I'll never find anything ever again.

It's Friday night, one of my favorite troubadours is playing in the pub just across the fire-road behind my house, one of my favorite bands play at the nightclub a block and a half away. What do I do? Do I call/text any of my friends, asking/telling them "Dance!"? No. Why not? Because I feel down... when I feel down, that thing, dancing and being bouncy, just don't work. And I'm no fun when not like that. They deserve better.

I'm going to bed now, hoping that tomorrow will prove to be a better day...

chiming bells...

Today was a good day (so was yesterday, but then I had too much to do to even look at the computer) even though I started work at 6AM, or maybe because? All quiet, peaceful, no one bothering you as you work. I was sorting stuff, so I really appreciated that there was no one around to distract me. When the first of the others came at around 7, I was done with the worst part, and it didn't matter that people were talking around me.

The nemesis did her usual gig and arrived at 9, and we didn't have no work by then, so I could send her away. She was still in hearing range (would have to send her out of the building to stop that I think...) but at least she wasn't straight across the table. It was pushing lunch break before she got back to our side, and after lunch there were only 2 more hours to go *YAY*
It felt good to do the crappy work I did this morning, because it's been waiting to be done for 5 months now, ever since we moved our little department from our previous spot.

And to top it of, the one who's been on sick-leave texted me asking "If I try to come to work on Monday, what will you have me do?" I answered she'd get to do the sorting, some low knee-bends, climbing, lift of big T, poking C with a stick... and then told her what her chore was =) I hope she comes, we've missed her.

Puppy (mothers day) talk...
I don't really know why, but D asked me to open my mothers day gift today instead of on Sunday. He said it was so I could check it was right, but come on, the store will be open on Monday, I'm sure of it. Anyways, I'm a big child, I love getting pressies...
When he apologized for ruining my fun, I was literally jumping up and down where I stood =) even though I knew what I would get... Pointing and saying "I want that." is always appreciated when hub's is buying presents.

So, I unwrap it and it is a pregnancy chime as I had asked for. For reference, I adore the chime of bells, I have a few on my key-chain, and people say I sound like one of Santa's reindeers when I carry them in my pocket. So, I had hoped to get a pretty green one, or maybe pink, wasn't really a big deal as long as it was "me"...

I open the little box that was inside the wrapping and there is a silver ball, on a ugly chain. OK, he did his best, now keep up appearance! Then I rattled the ball... there was no chime, but a clatter? A dull sound, as if you were holding a bell while shacking it. Need I say I was disappointed? Then he tells me it was the only one in the store with a chime in... *SIGH* I also noticed that he had used another store than the one I had told him to use (which do sell colored ones...) and as I was twisting the ball, trying to find a way out of it all, I notice it had a flat spot on one side. I asked him if he though it should be there, and he said "No, I don't. And with what that cost, there shouldn't be any imperfections!" Oh, joy. Now I felt even worse for disliking it.
Trotting off to the jeweler, I was feeling very uneasy. Although stores in Finland are obligated to let you return bought goods within a certain time period, I always end up getting people who makes you fight for any little justice.

D showed me the other balls in the display, just as boring and plain, but also a bigger and a smaller one. The girl let us see them, and when I struck the big ball, the softest chiming tone came out. I rattled the little one, and a not as perfect, but still beautiful tone rang clear. I rattled the same-sized one, and it was better than the one I had been gifted, but still dull. I also felt like the smaller ball was more to my liking, and easier to carry underneath my clothes. The chain had been a bit short, and amongst the longest chains, there were no big looped fancy chains like the one they had sold my poor D the first time around (it's fashion with big loops in the chains...) only ordinary plain ones. I like those. So, in the end it came out good, I'm happy with my chime (and can make baby hate bells before shim is even born) and there wasn't much of a fuzz. I would still love to have this one, but nothing stops me from buying it for myself later on.

D is fascinated that my heartbeat is so much louder now than before (well, I am pumping for two...) but he couldn't hear the baby's yet. He could though hear what one usually hear when listening to my tummy,my bowl, it growls =) always... I thought it was hilarious when I did my green dragon tattoo, because it started grumbling really, really loud just when the artist was done with the head.

Now my next decoration will be another snowflake, I wonder how my dragon pup's flake will turn out, I never know... I can google pictures all I want, but until I know the child, I can never pick.

lazy-ass co-workers!!!

I'm pissed!
Today was supposed to be exercise. The company have an exercise-campaign, and they offer FREE trials at different sorts of exercise. This is not the first time it's been canceled because too few people signed up. COME ON! We're 51 people in the campaign, how hard can it be to be more than 5 people to a exercise, it's not like there is one every week even.

Well, I'll just go for a walk or something. Day/evening is acting up a little though, I'm chatting with Lily and I haven't spoken to her in ages! Guess it is a hazard when you deal with friends on the other side of the globe...

Puppy-talk...

When I had known about the pregnancy for 3 days, I woke up with a bit of a tummy-ache and when in the bathroom, I noticed I was dispersing pink gue... I freaked out. I had an early, really early morning, so I went to work without telling D. I sent Misty a mail, and to my luck, she was swift to respond and calm me down a little.
I was freaking out multiple times during the day, especially when I got tummy-ache so bad I didn't know where to turn.
After lunch it disappeared, and stayed away almost until afternoon break. After I had my apple it went away again. That got me thinking, could it have been hunger?

So, to explain this to all who don't know me that good: I have no sense of being hungry, and no sense of being full. Usually. I am pretty sure that this episode was my first encounter with hunger for as long as I can remember, and I now make sure to have carrots with me at work, so that i can gnaw on something when lunch-time gets near.

I can feel the baby's heartbeats against my hand some of the times when I lay on my back in the bed. It flutters at a rapid speed, almost so soft you believe you're imagining it, but when you move the hand, it stops. It feels amazing! I can't wait until I can feel the pup's movements!

I read in one of D's cousins blogg that she was a bit blah about the preggieness, and that's fine by me, but she also wrote that she didn't think we would be curling-parents...
I don't think we will either. To be that you'd still have to let the kids out of the dungeon, you just sweep their way all the time... If we have a girl, D will lock her up until she's 30, and if we have a boy I'll probably guard him like a hawk, knowing what a scoundrel his dad was in his younger years, and knowing how I was too (also the reason why I would allow the locking up of the daughter...)
I try to imagine what kind of parents we'll be, but you can never know that. I think we'll have to go by trial and error, though at least I have some experience of taking care of stubborn, opinionated babies. Not that it will be the same when the baby is my own, that I'm sure of. Luckily mom will be around, I believe I can take her lead on a lot of things.

Early morning, nothing to do...

I decided to go to the early aqua-gym session today, between 6:30 and 7:30 am. Usually that means getting up at 5:30am, just so tummy can have its way.
Today, I woke up at 4:45 (ish) and was wide awake... and of course, tummy isn't grumpy at all... guess that's nice, it was being bothersome all of last night, making me so slow in my sewing I didn't have time for a walk before I headed to bed at 10PM.
I sewed myself a belly-tube. It's a tube-top, but for the belly. Great for when you use these and need to cover the gap =)
But the reason I have nothing to do is that I'm going to the company health centre before work to do some bloodworks, and you're not allowed to eat (or drink) anything before that. So I try to keep my mind on anything besides being hungry...

Becca's package...
So, did I make it home before ripping it apart?
Yes. Barely...
So, about the address, it's visible all right ;)

So, I ripped to open to find... paper???

Inside there was a little purple someone who assaulted Becca in the airport on her way home from the US (I think)...
But why the frowny-face?Well, I guess being stuffed into a package full of Skittles (and not allowed to eat any of them) will do that to you...There was also something for the baby, the first round of new clothes shim (shim=she+him) have recieved so far. This ones size-tag says 0-3 months... If my baby's born this size, I'm going into strike! Nu-uh!
Thank you Becca-boo! You made my day!

can't wait to get home!!!

today, just about half past 1pm, the workphone came to life. This don't happen very often, since if you need us, you usually need some products and stuff too, and it's easier to come around yourself.

S, who works across the table from me, picked up and nodded to the phone a bit before throwing it across the table to me, without saying a word. Nice.
Anyways, I picked it up and it was the reception calling, saying that G from delivery had a package for me waiting to be picked up. I had no idea who G was. But a package... Becca said she sent me something the other week... I ran out there!
Upon arrival I see a familiar behind sticking up from a container and thinks, wait, isn't her name G? 'Cos I know it's not MY deliverer who called that package in, 'cos that little whimse-girl wouldn't know I worked in the house if I so stuck a note to my mail-slot saying "postis" (short for postal worker in Swedish).

I was right, the middle aged lady (who lives close to mom) pointed me to my package and said that she thought it would be silly to sort it further since it was too big for my mailbox, and then I would get a note in my mail tomorrow and my package the earliest tomorrow night, granted I made it to the postoffice to pick it up before they closed.
I took my package and happily shiddely-hopped back to my part of the building, laughing to myself over the address Becca put on it. I think she might have forgotten to wear her glasses that day, since the text was soo big I think it would be visible from google earth if I laid it on the ground ;)

I can't wait to get home and open it. I really, really wanna open it now, but I have a hunch it might be baby related, and, well, I don't particularly feel like letting S know I'm expecting... Because I really don't like her and I don't wanna discuss my little dragon-pup with her.

last day of freedom

then tomorrow it's back to the salt mines (for all who don't understand the expression, it means going back to a tedious work), oh how nice this extended weekend have been!

I forgot to put away the x-mas lights yesterday, I got caught up in Bones =) it was the episode where the stalker shoots Booth. I had a nice walk as well, it took me about an hour to walk the 5 kilometers that will be the short choice for the girl-run next Saturday. I'm still not sure which to choose. There's too much asphalt, I'm not sure my knees are up for the long run, though, to be truthful, out of the extra 5 km, I think 4 is on gravel and soil. I'll have to walk it this week and get a feel for it. I will need to do some jogging in the beginning, just to get some speed up, I'm such a terribly slow walker, even when I speed up.

Today we'll go to moms place and have dinner, and clean the car. I'll also check out the sewing magazines she found at R's place for mama-clothes. That aught to do it for the rest of the day, might go for a walk in the woods, check out "my" spot, where I wanna build a house.

Puppy talk:
So, a day in the end of March, I strolled in to Emmaus, my second-hand store of choice. Accidentally also the only one available. I scanned the racks, not looking for anything in particular, mostly seeing if there were any white polos in, but not hoping. They only sell whole, clean clothes, and white don't usually stay white very long.
I sifted through the sweater section, my eyes drawing to the rack opposite of the skirt-rack. This is where mama-pants hang. I worked my way through the sweaters, then dresses, vests and blouses. I looked around to check if anyone was observing me as I started sifting through the skirts. There were maybe three other customers in the store. I was done with the skirts and tried to look casual as I turned around, sucking my (not yet visible) tummy in as far as it might go, so that if someone saw me, they'd think I was just at the wrong rack. To my disappointment, there were mostly normal pants, only one pair of minimal mama-jeans and a pair of huge mama-capri's. I breathed out in relief. I had done it! WOOT!

Then, I came to the jeans racks... I see a pair of carpenter jeans, you know, the model with suspenders, and thought I'd try them if they were my size. I like that kind of jeans. As I found the tag I almost dropped them on the floor. Motherline... In a hustle I folded them over their hanger so that the tag wouldn't show, and then had to gather up the straps so they wouldn't give me away, all at the same time that I was looking around me like crazy. Is anyone watching me? Do they see what I carry? Will they know I'm preggers just by seeing my guilty face?

I tried to act inconspicuous as I checked out the rest of the rack, while keeping an eye on the crowd, now two people, and working my way towards the shoes. I constantly had to check that the folding hadn't been undone and would give me away. I found a pair of adorable little sandals and felt really silly walking with them hanging from my fingertips as I tried to look like: I'm not going to try on this pair of mama-pants, I'm just holding them for a friend as I headed for the changing rooms. One last look around before I entered, closing the drape, making sure that it was tight in both ends. I tried them on. They "fit", aka, I could have had a bathing ball underneath it without a trouble, and that was at the smaller setting. I fidgeted. It was 8€. They were huge. I was bound to need them later on in my pregnancy, especially since I'm determined to work all the way to October. But to buy them would be to confess to the world that I was preggers. I needed a plan.

I sat down on the chair inside the little boot and scavenged my mind for ideas. In the end, my plan was brilliant! When the clerk would comment on my findings (I shop there a lot, she knows me and she's friendly) I would say that I was shopping for a friend who didn't live in town. This wouldn't be the first time, although I had never shopped mama-clothes before but still. I felt a bit braver in my resolve and stepped outside. To freeze, the store had filled up, there was absolutely surely 5 people in there now! I was in such a hurry to see if I had all tags and stuff covered that I almost dropped everything on the floor. I tried to look normal as I approeched the check-out, while looking around me franticly all the time. I was shaking as I laid my findings on the desk, and waited for the doom...

What I hadn't noticed was that the price-tag wasn't at the size-tag as they usually were. It was attached to a pocket. And thanks to all my hysterical folding, it was now upwards to the clerk. She punched it in, along with my shoes and told me that they had 50% off on everything that day, and did I need a bag for my purchases?

I was numb as I walked out and as I stumbled home I wondered Was that it? All my anxiety for nothing? D laughed at me, Misty got a tummy-ache from laughing so hard when I told her, I'm sure you all though it to be hilarious, but to me, it was very traumatic at the time, having to guard my every move, almost hiding in the racks while waiting for people to pass so no one would see what I carried. Lucky thing they don't have a store-police, I must have looked so suspicious...

heavy dinner...

I went out for dinner with D and one of his friends. It turned out we went to Adlon and had pizza. So far so good. We scavenged the salad table (coleslaw, tomatoes and cucumber) and then waited for our pizzas. Well, when they arrived, I was done with my little tomato/cucumber pile, being good and having my veggies so they baby gets what it needs. And go figures, I wasn't hungry any more... I managed to get down a small fifth of my pizza, the rest followed me home in a box.

Now D is off to play some RPG with his friends IRL. I'm going to stuff clothes that I wont be able to wear this summer (either) down into vacuum ziplocks, then suck out all the air and then I'll be done. It's D's job to carry stuff up to the attic =) Not really, but I don't wanna do it today. I will also get the freaking electric Christmas lights into their boxes so that the last x-mas box can finally leave the living room. Then it's just the curtains left... But there's a reason for those. I don't know which to use afterwards, and Christmas curtains beats the hell out of no curtains, even mom agrees on that one.

All this will be done while my new (bought a few months ago...) box of Bones (season 3) is rolling. If I finish that one, I might go to Roswell, I should have a few episodes left of the last box. And if all else fails, there is always the "without a trace" box that I got confused on where I was a few years ago. They show it on TV now and I suddenly remembered how much I liked it. Problem is, it's dual-side discs, unmarked, and I don't know where I left off...

Puppy talk:
I told you I'd tell you more about my early preggersness, so here we go.
That wonderful Tuesday, and for that matter the rest of that week, I was rolling high on adrenaline. I was so full of energy, I could do anything. It was awesome! Say the happiness that lasts... After the weekend, I was so knackered I had to go sleep a few hours after work, just so I'd have enough energy to eat dinner, and then I'd go to sleep again. When I woke up in the mornings, all I wanted to do was sleep some more.
For those of you who knew me in November/December last year, you'll remember my sleeping per night estimated at around 4-5 hours a night. I didn't need more, and suddenly I had a need for 10+ hours, what was I to do? My co-workers wondered if I slept at all at night, 'cos I looked like hell at work, and all I could say was "I haven't slept this much in years, I wish I could stay up."

This was the way I spent March, sorry, I don't remember much of it, did anything exciting happen? So, for the record, I tested positive on February 24th, 2 months after our wedding (ok, so the ghostly plus was at the 22nd, but it doesn't count), spent March in hibernation, and April have been quite OK.

That's it for now, next time I'll give you a story that I've been told is quite hilarious... It's about a preggo in a little town, who still have a few weeks to go before she passes the 'magic' 12 week border (biggest risk of early miscarriage is before that), who sees a pair of mama-pants in her favorite second-hand shop... and don't want anyone to know...

popping the cherry

of this blogg that is ;)

I have roamed maybe half a year on another portal, and just didn't feel it. So, when I needed a baby-blogg (well, need and need *eyeroll*) I came here.

I will mainly blogg about my baby thoughts, but of course I'll go OT more than a few times and there will probably be mentionings of the Twilight saga by Stephenie Meyer, various people from the lexily, other happenings in my life and such. If a part contains many #¤%&, I'm talking about my job :)

The Twilight saga is also the reason my hubby is called a werewolf, since he has the exact personality traits of the hunkiest werewolf in the saga, Jacob Black. Those books spooked me quite a lot when I first started reading Eclipse in October last fall. Yeah, I started with book 3, Misty believes it's the reason I particularly dislike the 'obvious' hero of the books, Mr. Edward Cullen... I don't know, I still think Jacob being exactly like my D plays a pretty big part. I'm not the girl to fall for pretty talk and nice gestures, I need to be literally swept of my feet. D did that, and well, I don't think Jacob would have a problem with it either. They both share the opinion that you're not more fragile just because you're a girl, that you can still fight your own fights. OK, twilight-rant over ;)

Puppy talk:
I tested positive the first time as me and my hubby was moving his stuff back home from where he was studying.
On the ferry back home (Sunday) I 'had' to take the test, though it was still another day before, well, you know, my monthly friend. It came up negative, as always before. I laid it aside an finished up my business in the minimal little boot. Then something in the perifial vision caught my eye... from a certain angle, wasn't there a shadow of a vertical line? I sat there for another 5 minutes, twisting the poor stick back and forth. trying to decide whether or not it was another line underneath the horizontal one.
In the end, I discarded the test, being none the wiser but filled with hope, having decided that if my 'friend' hadn't arrived by then, I'd test again Tuesday morning.
Monday came and went, no 'friends'... I was giddy as a kid on Christmas, waiting for Santa. Had the hardest time falling asleep. I didn't tell my hubby, since I wanted to spare him the insanity that comes along with having fertility problems (I've done this before you see, in another life, before I met him) and also, I wanted to surprise him. Still, I wasn't doing this alone. There was someone holding my hand, even if it was just virtualy, and she was also the first to know the outcome of the following mornings test.
Tuesday morning began early, since I had aqua-gymnastics at 6:30AM, and had decided to take my test at the bath-house, because no matter the outcome, I would cry. Tears don't show in water. I took the test and set it aside, not daring to look away from it, though I had no idea how quick or slow a positive line would show. Turns out, pretty fast... I just sat there, cursing my phone for not having a camera :)
I told my husband the same night, maybe I'll tell you about that some other time ;) He was happy, we were trying, I had been on the first kind of meds they try on people with PCO (Poly Cystical Ovaries, if you don't know what it is, google is your friend), since December.

Afterwards, when it had sunk in, we were both astounded that it had been so easy. Neither of us had believed that the first meds would work, it was just a step you had to take to get to the heavy stuff. We were both prepared to be trying over a year with different treatments before it would succeed. No one is happier than us that we were proved wrong. We are very fertile, as long as my body works as it should.

So far, due date is November 1st, but thinking of family history, I'm having an October-baby. I was one week early, and he was two. And either my baby needs to be almost a month early or four days late. 'Cos baby needs to be born the 5th... it's the ultimate date of birth ;) Both me, mom, grandma, my niece and my nephew (and another little precious charge) share that date, though in different months. My hubby is arguing that the 25th is also a very fine day, but he's bias :)

For kicks, I have heard the heartbeats last week, strong and steady, and 1st of June is the ultrasound. I promise, there will be pictures!

I think that'll be all for now, I'll tell you more about my early pregnancy another time, and of course about how it is now.
