another gnawer
Pup has started sprouting his 7th tooth. No wonder he's been a total crybaby and refusing sleep lately =)

quick shopping and new shoes
So, the nupper-pupper got new shoes. Again. Brand new this time. We left this morning.and as we left the ferry I said to hubs "If we find him shoes, let's try and make it on the returning ferry". The returning ferry departed at noon (12:00 local time) and we had arrived a little past 9:30am, and was amongst the last cars of..
We knew where to go, to possibly find Kavat shoes (which is, besides the Finnish brand we found for his winter boots, the only ones to make shoes for chubby-feeted babies) so we had our heading.
And lo and behold. There were shoes of that brand. But of course we were a few weeks before the new spring shoes would arrive, so we had to make due with what they had left in their stock, which wasn't much. But we found one pair of shoes that were a size too big (in his actual size there was quite the variety, 3-4 pairs or something =) because he's not going to wear them just yet. They were red, but even D thought these were OK for a boy, and the sale price tag of 200 SEK wasn't bad either (normal price 450 SEK)
Then we swept the supermarket next doors, made a run down town to check for my winter boots (no luck there) and then we scurried of to the ferry. We made it just in the nick of time, and it was really nice to be home 3:30pm, instead of 10:30pm. Pup spent over an hour each ferry-ride walking and walking and walking.
We got more than just one look, and it think much was due to the "leash". He don't like holding hands, and he has a thing for stairs... He had more confidence walking with the harness on, and I think it's just good getting him used to wearing it in crowd situations, because he will have to later, I mean, he already shows all the early signs of being a runner... (runner = runs away)
this is the only pic I could find on the web, tomorrow I might post some of pup walking in it. Ours is all black though, it also has a strap to put between the two hooks as a leach..
Anyways, lots of people apparently have issues with "leashes" on kids. I truly believe they have been blessed not to have had runners. I bought mine for the little sissy who used to stay with me, because she chased trucks and lorry's! While they were driving! And she was an expert at wiggling her hand out of mine...

Winter-sport-holiday
This week the schools have their sport-vacation. A full week with no school and lots of activities. We won't be joining it all too much sine pup is a bit small yet, but we are planning to go ice skating today, so I can try out my new skates (well, new second hand skates that I bought for 2,50€ a while back) and pup'll probably snuggle up some horses at the pony ride. *shiver, BIG animals...*
We had planned to take cousin A with us, but her mom called about an hour ago, telling us the poor thing had gotten sick and had thrown up. D could hear her screaming in the back that she wanted to go see pup. We'll try again later in the week, there'll be no pony riding then, but the ice will be open.
Tomorrow we're of to Sweden, to shop for diapers, winter boots for me and spring boots for pup.

little walker
Tonight was spent prancing up and down the hallway, wearing black rubber boots with a dragon face on each =) I brought them from his drawer to check them for size, and he wanted to try them on. Somehow the kid loves putting on shoes. He took them for a test walk and then came back to try on the sandals I had brought out. and then the shoes. And then the rubber boots again. I figured he just wanted them because they were the only ones who weren't sizes too big, and brought out the winter boots. He showed interest, and the first one slipped on easily, but when it was time for #2 he started howling, crying "Ouch, ouch, ouch" and though I could find nothing pinching him, he didn't stop until I removed the boots. Then he started with the rubber ones again. And thus it went, the rubber boots stayed on the rest of the evening =)

a day in the snow
Another day spent at the in-laws, playing out in the yard.
D, D's dad, cousin A and pup. We went for a walk down to D's grandparents who live about half a kilometer from the in-laws.
When we got back, pup decided to try walking on his own on the smooth surface created by the blade on the tractor.
He stumbled and fell a little, then got back up again.
And walked some more =)
When grandpa prepped for dinner by peeling potatoes, pup wanted to taste and stole one from the casserole. He kept gnawing at that potato for the rest of the night...
Playing with cousin A, potato in a firm grip/gnaw
And here's a picture of pup and his grandma =) She doesn't particularly like being photographed =)

lazy days
Yesterday was a day that at first seemed like it would be a calm day, butt turned into a slam-packed one =)
We went to baby music that the church arranged, pup was a bit peeved that he didn't get to play on the leaders instrument, I mean, his granny lets him play on all her instruments (and she has a lot)
We also had the baby swim class, and someone enjoyed having his daddy along =)
Pup got to ride in the new stroller, which he loved!
But when he got home he just sat down, toppled over, and got himself a nosebleed. It stopped really quickly (it's just smeared out because he got his pacifier) and I think it was mostly because we just got in from the cold that his nose was sensitive (he didn't hit his head/nose on the floor btw)

We now own a stroller, an Emmaljunga Softy from 2004 in really good condition, the only part showing signs of wear is the tires

hubs is home
Pup was cautious this morning, a bit reluctant even, just like he was wondering whether it was a dream or not.
And then when he decided it was for real, he became insanely happy. He laughed like I haven't seen in months, all morning.
And it warms my heart to see my puppy-love so happy =)

♥ Happy Valentines Day ♥
Kissy-face?
Eh, I don't think so... A year old picture, since someone is still just impossible to get to pose properly, aka no snuggling mommy/puppy shot.

it's sunny, WEAR SHADES!!!
I marvel at those who say small kids don't need shades, they're not supposed to be out in the sun during summer, and sit in the shadow in the stroller. GAH! My eyes hurt when the sunlight reflects of the new fallen snow. What will it not do to my sons eyes that has not been exposed to this amount of light ever before? Damage I tell you, damage! Research say that kids have up to 80% higher sensibility to light in comparison to adults, much due to the fact that our eyes are used to it. So, even if your kid is in the "safety" of the stroller, put some shades on, the reflections from the snow will be right up their eyes.
All cool cats wear shades!
Pup wears them while riding the stroller/pram, riding the car and when we're outside playing in the snow. Does he leave them on? Not if I forget to put the security strap behind his head. Does he object to wearing them? No. I don't make him wear them just because, I make him wear them sunny days to protect his eyes.
We were joined in our sledge-madness by D's cousin A, she's 3,5 years older than pup, coming up on 5 years old in March. We started out with a "Dinosaur train", apparently a kids show on TV that she likes. I didn't block all of her face because she liked those shades so much =)
Back at the in-law's place, I pulled around A and pup on the same sledge, going down the little hill between the who driveways to the house. They both screamed with joy, and pup was riding with his tongue sticking out...
Today is his 1-year anniversary of him being puptized (baptized) and he got his very own bobby-car. Or well, I found it at a flea market yesterday and since I've been meaning to get him one for ages (they're sturdy and such) it seemed like a good idea. He's not loving it yet, but I think it has something to do with him not having time to sit around on cars, he wants to walk! Friday when I got home he was tottering around in the middle of the living room floor. Yesterday he didn't walk that much, but this morning, and the rest of the day... He's not steady, but he walks long passages now, without any fear ♥
And with a little support he even walks outside in the snow =)
wearing shades, of course ;)
but even more fun is riding the baby sledge down the snow-hills at granny's house. That's a winter's worth of snow for ya. From half of her driveway...

i had intentions...
I was planning a post, I swear.
But I don't know where my night went. it's been going super speed-since I woke up around 9 (pm, I fell aslepp next to pup) and it don't feel like I've dona a thing. Which I haven't.
I wrote a fairly long mail and searched for some info to attach to said mail. I've been on and off facebook all night. I've been on my discussion board of choice, mostly reading.

shopping spree...
I should learn to keep my pie-hole shut. So, I said a week ago this month was scarce of money. It still is. And what did I do with my day of? Spend money *sigh and eye-roll*
And today I spent 75€ on toys for pup... Doesn't he look happy. He was really ecstatic, playing with everything as I went through the stuff. he doesn't get it all now though. He will get the Lego Quatro that is in the big plastic bin, I've been looking for them for quite a while. They are in size to Duplo, as Duplo are to Lego.
These are our bricks, we own one (1) piece of Duplo, that I use to illustrate. I don't know how it ended up on our balcony, but it spend a fair amount of time in a flower pot next to a stone painted as a ladybug.
And then, apart from the Lego Quatro that cost 15€ (I would happily have paid double, because they don't sell them anymore, and I found some at the charity sorting, but someone had moved them from the pricing-table where I put them, and then they thought I didn't want them, so they sold them. I was pissed then, but not at them of course, they couldn't know) the same person was selling of a bunch of Fisher Price Little People items. I love them! And pup really likes the stuff he has (a buss, a tractor and a lorry).
the Little People's already living here. The lorry he got for x-mas from me and D. The buss I bought second had last summer, thought the sound was broken, dished it (!) and then realized where the switch was, tried in batteries and it worked =) The tractor he got from his Godfather for his birthday.
These two I've bought second hand, separately, for the buss, and pup was so happy when he got more passengers =) The firewoman cost me 0,5€ at Bettans, someone sold it separately from it's firetruck. The firetruck was shabby, so I ignored it. the pirate was found at the charity, and cost the same I think. This was last summer as well, and the pirate early fall.

what do you mean "you only bought this for the dragon"? I so did not... completely...
Pink Castle. I forgot to take a pick of this before I packed it away (pup kept unpacking, and going totally pupzilla on my neatly sorted packs. He'd jump/crawl over my legs, slide right down on top of the figures, then roll around to his butt, kick around the figures still standing, and then rump of with a content expression...)
This one is also complete 15€
The playground will be pup's b-day gift, and the castle he'll get for x-mas. I can honestly say that though I am known for being done with my presents early (I fell stressed if I'm not done when November ends) it is the first time I've ever bought a x-mas gift in February =)
Edit:: Picture removed due to lack of space
It started yesterday with one pair of shoes and one pair of sandals, both size 23, which means they'll probably fit this summer and fall, if they're a little big doesn't matter since they're a good model, so they'll be comfy any way for him. 22€ for both, and I got a pair of brown seats for pup "on the bargain". Good buy, pup'll need shoes, these are horrendously expensive, and not to be found here, so it's Sweden and Arninge (almost 1,5 hours drive from the boat) that is the closest place to sell Kavat shoes. I did ask the store where I bought his winter boots in January if they'd stock Tepsut walking shoes for the spring, but she didn't know. I can only hope. And today I spent 75€ on toys for pup... swimming
I know it can be seen as guilt for not posting any updates what so ever for a week or two, but I don't care. I filmed Pup with arm floaters and flippers on his feet. Today he didn't swim much, mostly floated around being content, but last Thursday he just swam of when he tried them the first time. And there I stood, at the shallow end of the pool, looking at him racing towards the deepest part, feeling a bit like "hey, wait for me, you can't swim...."

shopping...
though this month contained a pretty big stack of bills, I still need to do some shopping today. No biggies, but stuff we need.
For starters, we need "footloops" for one of our overall's, it has a strechband with buttonholes, but it keeps falling of and I've had it. I know the babyshop has these, since I bought it for the the black one which had none.
We also needs 2 pack's of scudders (pacifiers) because pup keeps biting holes in them *sigh* or he somehow manages to lay them on the floor for someone to step on them. And I mean him because loose scudders are only found in his bed. Then there is one on the rag, which we use when we leave home. Thing is, we need two in bed (because in his sleep he always gnuff's away the first one, so to not search like crazy around the bed when he wants it, there's another behind the bunny. It's just that we only have these 3 now, and I really like to have one in the nursery bag, if I forget to bring one you know, and it's good to have some extras around because you never know when he bites the next one to pieces.
And finally I'm gonna check out a camera bag. The girl I bought the new(er) camera from offered to give me the one she had used (not original) but silly me declined, because it fit inside the leather case I already have. First when I got home I remembered all the times I've cursed said case, because it has no pocket for the extra battery pack, as the one she offered me had... Oh well...

watching a movie
I know I've been bad at updating.
The truth of the matter is, I have nothing to write.
Pup evolves, of course, and right now I'm too tired to appreciate it, or encourage it.
tonight I'm finally watching a movie I ordered before x-mas, I had wanted to watch it during one of my pup-less nights. Because they messed up and shipped it, I received it after x-mas, and haven't found the energy to watch it, because it seemed like a "high maintenance" movie. And it is. It requires concentration, not that I have much of that now either, but it's been bugging me that I haven't seen it.
The vulnerability of Dren as a newborn infant reminds me of pup (of course, I'm a mom) and of course all these references to her growing up so fast don't exactly ease my pain.
I'm not so sure I'll be able to sleep when I'm done watching, but if my thoughts keep haunting me, I know a sure remedy. I'll just pick up at pup, change his diaper and then keep him beside me in my bed. Nothing eases a worried mind like the smell of pup in your nose (though it has a tendency to give stiff shoulders...)
