Happy New Year

I'll end this year by treating you to some of our Christmas pictures :)

Underneath our Christmas tree, and hanging in it, were some gifts in the morning.

Someone was -very- exited about this box :)

Pup and Santa

Pup got a package so big he accidentally dropped it on his way back...

... then sat and eyed it for 5 minutes...

... before taking of with it...

... it was a big project for a (not so) small (anymore) pup to get
the huge and heavy box to the kitchen. There he stayed...

And stayed and stayed :)

At home I made him a train table.

Hopefully we'll not have train-booby traps all over the place now :)

1-UP

I found a t-shirt like this in the second hand store last week, only it was butchered, hem and neck lining cut away sloppily. Payed 1€ for it, intending to fix it up for pup.

My puppy-love races through life at a cutthroat pace, climbing on this and that and whatnot. I figured his guardian angels might need a hand in shape of an extra life, just in case :)

At swimming, pup has learned "the Dolphin dive"
...one...

...twothreedive!...

Lucky I knew he would do that...

the Mad Hatter strikes again

I love my friend Paulinha for reminding me of my Mad Hatter days a few years back :)
Yesterday, I made myself a hat just like pup's.

bicycling

Just realized, you haven't seen my new bike yet.
TADAA!!!
It's a Trek with double sealed "gear box" so it should survive winter better than others. A removable basket and then of course, pup :)

And here is D's brand new bike. Now the whole family is rolling :)

pupin' in the rain

I found a gazillion 3 seconds long videoclips on the camera. Before them there was this photo... BUSTED =)

Kitty was forgotten at granny's last time he was there, the reunion was very cuddlesome.

Come out and run and play with me in the pouring rain, it's wonderful!
Kid was soaked when he finally came inside, muttering "cold."
The shorts are re-fashion, aka recycled, and in their past life they served as boxers for his dad, now the elastic waistband gave up and they got butchered =)

Kobba Klintar

Last Sunday me and mom took pup with us and took a boat cab out to Kobba Klintar, an old  pilot base where sailing ships would pick up their pilots for guidance into the port. They also have Finland's last house-installed working fog horn untouched since it's days of use. And oh, does it work, if you stand in it's way, you feel yourself vibrating from it. Pup didn't appreciate that at all =)

However, he did really enjoy the water puddles =)

I would say the rubber boots were a good call, wouldn't you?

There are ramps all over the islet, and that makes it completely accessible by wheelchair (or pram if you're rolling that), there's also a very nice outhouse with 2 separate rooms.

Pup and granny has gone "off ramp", and isn't Ålands Hav (Åland Sea) gorgeous in the background. At the far side of that is Sweden.

Someone fell asleep, he ran around until there was not one more step in him, then I laid him down inside a playhouse for kids that stood empty, and he just went out as a light. He slept as I carried him back on board the taxi boat, and the ride back, to wake when we reached port and was back on land.

The view from inside the playhouse, a utility shed, behind that the old pilot cabin and then the "new" pilot house that holds the fog horn. I didn't take no pictures from that side, but here is some:
The house in all it's glory, pilot spying for ships.
The pilot in comparison to people, he is 2,5 meters tall I think.
How it looks when the shutters are opened and ready to sound it's Mueeeeee.

The newly built beacon, there was one on the islet before the new house was built, holding a hand propelled fog horn. This one will be used for theater, concerts or for example weddings and parties. It has a large window towards the sea. It had it's grand opening the day we were there, it was our reason to go. The playhouse was a 2 meter tall version of it.

After that, we went to the in-laws for dinner and dropping pup off, since his daycare has closed for summer vacation, he stays with grandmothers while I work.
I took the opportunity to try how many of the new car seats would fit in the car =)

The new chair for the in-laws cars, not optimal for forward use, but it serves when only transporting the chair in it self. Mother in law loved the color, so it got cleared straight away =)

And this is why I accept our car, although I hate driving it and just generally dislikes it. It is HUGE on the inside. Three rear facing car seats on a row, and it's a snug fit, but not tight, the chairs are not pressing against each other and the doors close without disturbing the chairs. The pink chair was for a girl who asked me to pick one up for her when I got one for us, and the one closest to the camera is the in-laws old chair, that got a new home today as well. It felt freaking awesome to drive around with three chairs like this!

Midsummers Eve

I'm ready for the festivities to begin =)

Pup decided that the best way to deal with the madness was to take a nap

We had leftover leaf garlands, there were a car nearby... 'nuff said. And my accomplice, and also mastermind of the heist, was my old daycare (OK, afternoon care) lady.

Dance games around the Midsummer pole

Pup and cousin running wild.

Why have a line to dry in when you can just dry your clothes in a tree and get that wonderful pine scent for free =)

Took a round with granny's row boat.

And then we went round and round and round with his 2€ secondhand doll stroller and my inherited old doll pram (which by the way is on it's way back to the originall owners daughter after it's been cleaned up)

tivoli

This year vs last year, though the size has changed, the driving style remains...

First ride was a blue car...

Second ride on the same carousel was a red car...

Then we took on the rollercoaster

And it was very thrilling for a little pup, who seemed very content with me holding him tight (it took so sharp turns that I had to soften the blows a bit for him)

The a ride in a white car....

Spilling some popcorn...

and then eating the rest as if the cone contained an ice cream =)

Grandma went to... check out the flowers?

Bouncing Castle, the kids passing him started out at the same time, but here they're on their 3rd run and pup's not even at the top yet =)

And down he slides. For some reason the pictures I have of him stalling at the top for 5 minutes didn't transfer, but he came down after a few attempts at persuasion by some other kids (he was in their way)

And last but not least, he drove another car.... And was completely furious afterwards when he had to stop driving and go home, he screamed and sulked half the way.
