Happy Day!

Linus and Lava looking at a tree, cuddling and wond'ring what it might be...
Yeah, it's been a round in photoshop, since the little couple have never met.

It made it in time!
Pup's betrothed will be baptized tomorrow, and of course I had to make her a bib that would match his =) Only problem was I started with it Monday afternoon... and I had to mail it...

Last time we went shopping I bought a bed-set for pup, to fit the next size of cover. Threw it in the laundry and not until it was time to iron it did I realize it was the wrong size, aka the one we already have. I've been meaning to put it up for sale for a few weeks, bit it just kept slipping my mind. So, finally today I did. Entered that it should be kept posted for 3 weeks (didn't have high hopes that anyone would buy it though) and 3 hours later a girl calls, out of her breath "Is it gone? Do you still have it? Can I buy it?" =) Of course she could.
So now I'm happy!

I really, really hope this gets to it's receiver in time. Which means before Saturday.

how to make a nursing sweater/t-shirt

Hur man gör en amningströja/t-shirt

After seeing a tutorial on how to sew up jeans on mönster-arkivet, I decided to take pictures when I made myself a nursing sweater Lundmyr style from an old t-shirt. Also making it dual language, just because.

The inspiration, picture from Lundmyr of Sweden
Inspirationen, bild från Lundmyr of Sweden

Start with measuring out the length, about 10cm below your boobs. If you have a marked waistline, that's the lowest point, any longer and it will just ride up anyway. Mark with a needle and take off the shirt.

Fold the hem up to the needle, so that the seam on the backside is just over the mark. Now measure and pin up all the way around. If you have a bit bigger boobs it is an idea to make the front fold-up a bit shorter.

Sew as close to the old seam as possible, and stretch the fabric a little if it's a stretch fabric.

Sig-sag a bit from the straight seam, then cut away the spare fabric close to the seam.

Now you can either iron the sig-sag up and keep it there by hand sewing/invisible seam or do what I did and sew a visible seam at the same distance that separates the previous visible seams.
DONE!

Underneath this shirt you can wear a tank-top or a thin sweater/polo. If you want to do the sweater/polo, make "button-hole" above the boobs and cut it open. The short t-shirt gives cover while you still don't get a bundle of fabric to pull up.

One of pup's toys is especially delicious, therefore not getting all of it inside his mouth causes serious tantrums...

♥ puppy in a (cat-)basket

Today we visited my sister, pup's aunt.

My sister has 3 kids of her own (14½, 12½ & 9) but adores pup since she can return him when he starts crying =) or smell bad (which he did twice today...)

This is Qling, the family predator. The most radical anti-smoker in the house, he bites those who've been foolish enough to smoke before cuddling him.

Pup was brave enough to chill in his basket...

And it was mighty fun

I LOVE this face he's making!

puptized

The pup is 'tized =)

He was so good in church, smiling at the ministers, singing along in the songs, tried to catch the ministers hand during the blessing, liking the watery part and so on...

At the reception he found the arms of mommy' godfather and there he stayed, drooled and snoozed for the better part of the time.

The night ended in a dinner with 2 of the godparents, and a close encounter between pup and godmother's baby...

preparations

Tomorrow we baptize our little pup, and today is full of preparations.
9 am we'll be shown the congregation hall where the reception afterwards will be held, and at 10, D has an appointment at the unemployment agency, while he's there I'm going to weigh in for a "loose-weight" campaign, where a millionaire in Finland will donate 15€ for every kilo people loose in weight, to teacher education in Nepal . We're also to meet the minister, pick up the cakes and the tablecloths.

I bought this bib last fall, with the baptism in mind, and have only done the embroidery. It is to protect the 69 year old dress from "sir-pukes-a-lot"/"mr-drool". It's so brittle, it could eat it up.
The letters are from a really old sample book my sister gave me on my birthday, and the Scorpio I found with google, split in two and did some modifying on =)

1st vaccination

My little pup was so brave, he only cried a little when they inserted the needle and a little while after. Before we left he was smiling at the nurse, but refused to look at the trainee who administered the vaccine.

I, however, had the hardest time keeping the tears back when that big needle (in perspective) pierced his tiny thigh. It looked so awful. Poor puppy...

under construction...

Our house, see the construction site? The closest tree is aprox where the house they tore down ended...

The new ride and it's precious cargo

I thought it was a bit open to the wind so I wrapped it up =)

3 month old and a new pushchair

Pup has reached the dignified age of 12 weeks/3 moths and sits almost steady by himself.
My little sweetheart.
Everyone says he don't have no hair on the top of his head, but he does! Look, evidence!

The new pushchair is home!
We bought it here at home, because of the color. It was apparently available here, and for something that will be used for many years to come I'm willing to pay 30€ more.
I love that it works both with the car seat, as a stroller and as a lay-down-carriage (I don't know a better word)

Yeah, the reflector stripes I made. Here you wanna make sure to be visible in the dark.

3 month...

12 weeks ago, 3 months, we were graced by God with our little miracle. Time flies. Not our puppy in the picture but it's beautiful just the same.
