teaser
I have not the time, nor the energy to do a full tale of the trip, but here's a teaser of pup and his betrothed, "Auwa" (that's how he pronounces her name)

we're home
The travel went well, of course it was a big toll on D sitting still for so long and a bit weary for me to drive that late, but all in all it went great.
Pictures and stuff will come in a while, got to sort them a bit first =)

we're all going
Yup, after a whole day of me sulking around the house, the hubby decided to come along.
I'm content =)
I'm content =)
I'm off
I'll be going to Sweden for a few days, alone =(
Or, pup'll be with me, but the cripple who is broken will remain firmly seated in the sofa. yes I'm grumpy about that. I hate driving at night, and even more I hate driving ALONE at night. I fear falling asleep, it's not uncommon, I often feel my mind slipping when it's late and/or I'm tired.
I'm telling you this since I don't have one of them fancy phones that can do internet (and I don't intend on getting one either) and I don't have a laptop anymore, so I'll be away from you all until Friday or something.
Hope you all have a great time, I'm pretty sure I'll have fun if I just get where I'm heading without killing us both by falling asleep at the wheel.

massive picture update
Someone was supposed to be feeding the sheep...
and the he petted them ever so gently, though what I managed caught on tape ain't all that gentle...
Pups cousin celebrated his 14th birthday, pup liked the garden...
and the kitty...
and the cousin...
Hubs wanted to show of his new orthotics...
He still ahve to use the crutches, his knee is locked in that angle
He sais it makes him feel like he's in a sci-fi movie =) And it kinda looks like some of the stuff you see there =)
At the renaissance fair, sharing a sandwich with grandma
And offering to share with me too... Cutie ♥
Watching the jester perform
We met a group of old family friends, like mom said, that alone was worth the entry fee
Getting a bit tired from the heat, but soon perking up 'cos someone got to share ice cream =)
How many bunnies do you see in this picture? Poor things were cramped all over eachother to get some shade in the heat.
There were a tournament show
But we left just as they started, pup got to escaping, running around, not being happy. He was tired, hot and thirsty poor thing
Today I've found him twice looking in the album, saying "Aua", which is how he says the name of his betrothed ♥
For two nights now he's been sleeping in a pull-out bed (it can grow 2 more "steps") instead of the crib, and seems much more at ease, it has been a major amount of anxiety over the crib lately.

much brighter today
Hubs and his cast. I snapped a picture before they cut it away (it had broken, again, and would have to be redone completely) remembering that I didn't have any pictures of it, just the ones in the car. While she did it, the nurse said the doctor might want to give him a orthotics instead, but he would have to read the chart and examine first.
Well, I went out to call mom (it was another 15 minutes before they expected the doctor back from lunch) and when I came back in with five minutes to spare, the nurses were fitting it to D's leg. So lucky I snapped this pic, 'cos now he's cast-less =)
Me, mum and pup took a stroll. There's a circus in town. They have camels =)
Biiig camels...
And lamas and zebras and a tiny fallabella pony. We stayed well out of the lama's spitting range =)
And a bull with the biggest horns I've ever seen
Seriously!

not "just" a car ride away...
Hubs has serious issues with car-travel. Mainly because the passenger seat don't go back far enough for him to have his leg good. And the backseat ain't much better. However, I got a lawn-game as summergift from my company, and it's the perfect support. Looks a bit funny though, and I don't love the safety aspects of it but it'll have to do for now.

a little brighter today
The night was awful.
Pup has croup again, and coughed the night through, well, not completely, and didn't wake up everytime either, but he sure kept me awake... I was pretty tired when he decided to wake up at 7:15 (gotta praise the good things) and try to kick me out of bet, for real, he put his shoulders against D and pressed with his feet on me...
We took a round of errands, going to D's employer, the bank (yay, they'll lend us money to buy some land if we decide to) and then the hospital because D thought his cast was loose. It was, or rather cracked... *lol* so they reinforced it. They said it was a single layer where it had cracked, so it might have happened directly when they did it, only his leg were to swollen for it to be noticed. He got his new appointment for check-up on Monday the 18th, and if all goes well he'll be out of the cast after that, and have an orthos (metal-rods keeping the knee locked in position) that he'd be able to remove himself, like when showering and such.
We had a few more errands, and then home. I was completely out of energy, and of course, when we had eaten lunch and I decided to go nap next to pup, he decided to wake up... and me a mama-pg, meaning he cried and cried as soon as I was out of sight...
Night was OK though, D's friend J came over and made dinner, and entertained pup (who loves his godfather) so I got some rest at least.
Hoping tonight will be a better night.

fuck fuck fuck
So...
Friday at work hubs calls, being all bitter and sourly, and scares the heck out of me making me think he's not being allowed to come home Saturday after all. Turns out he "only" lost his engagement/wedding ring. He looked everywhere and couldn't find it.
Oh well, I said, it's only a ring. It's not the end of the world. There's new ones at the jewellery's, and still, it's only a piece of metal, it is not the end of the world.
In the evening, just after I got pup to bed, he calls again, saying he had an accident at work, and flew a few meters, smashing knees first into the metal deck as he landed. He said it hurt as hell, then he had to hang up because the (first)mate of the ship came to check him up (that is the one who has the "nurse" position on board).
He called back when that was over, telling me that they had decided he would go to the hospital straight away as they reached the harbor. No one thought it was more than a bad bust, you know, maybe some painkillers, bandages or some other stiffer support. But since it was an accident durring work it would need to be checked up carefully due to insurance reasons.
He calls em again a little later, saying he won't be going to the ER in the night, but to a doctor in the morning. Apparently the capital's ER is heavy trafficked during weekend nights and he would have little chance of being served before morning anyhow. But that also means he's likely to miss his flight home. That's a pretty sad moment.
I speak to mom who wonders why they can't just let him fly home and go to the ER here, since it's crucial that they don't puncture his skin over there, for whatever reason, because they have multi-resistant-bacterias over there, but not in the hospital here, so he would have had to be isolated until tests could show he didn't get that.
I try calling hubs to let him now, but he's out of reach (aka no signal on the cellphone) so I start texting him. In the middle of it, mother in law calls. That's a heavy conversation since she's so panicky, being half a hypochondriac, she's half convinced he's going to die (that's how she sounds at least)
In the morning I talk to hubs and then it's been settled that since the x-ray here is manned during the weekend, he would be allowed to fly home, mainly because they couldn't get hold of a doctor in Helsinki.
So me and pup goes to meet him when the plane lands, he limps badly, but you know he still walks, he still carries pup who's hugging him tightly not wanting to let go. He also says the pain is really bad, but I'd say that's pretty expected since he just came out of a small aircraft that's been flying for about an hour or more.
At the ER they admit him, and me and pup goes to the other emergency-room, the care-center's because pup's been couching so badly at nights and it's been going on for nearly a week and only gets worse.
When we're done there, after about an hour (pup's got croup again, but since he doesn't have trouble breathing, just gets really sad like he sounds when he's hurt himself when he coughs, they didn't do nothing) we go back to see if he's done. I ask the front desk if she can tell me how he's doing and she says he's waiting to get plastered... WHAT? She asks if I wanna come in to see him, well duh, yes I do.
Turns out he has 2 cracks in his left knee-cap and will have a cask from about where his boxers end, down to his ankle, for at least 6 weeks. No wonder he was limping, no wonder he was in pain.
The ER personnel had been taken aback a bit by the fact that he had walked in there, not to mention the flying and all, with a cracked knee-cap...
So our summer is pretty much bust. As it looks right now, we can't even go on longer rides in the car, because the passenger seat would need to go back about to more steps for hubs to be able to sit normally, now he has to be a bit angled because the straight out leg takes pretty much room...
We'll might try the backseat, but then we would need to move pup to the front, and before that happens the airbag must be removed. Oh bother!
Great way to start of you summer vacation ey?
