the Mad Hatter strikes again

I love my friend Paulinha for reminding me of my Mad Hatter days a few years back :)
Yesterday, I made myself a hat just like pup's.

update

First out, now I've been trying back and forth some, and now the commenting should work again. At least the blogg looks like it should.
Secondly, I've totally tattooed pup's kissing-bunny...
Thirdly, I've made pup another hat, and finally it's the right size =)
and forthly (and once more, Becca, that is a word) I remembered what I wanted to post yesterday *eye roll* It was picture of a certain pup kicking his legs in the pram, when I thought he was sleeping. He had wiggled them out of the blanket and was enjoying the sun on his toes =)
Also to say that my powder diet got off to a flying start, I lost 4,8 kilos the first week. excess water anyone?
The above was supposed to be accompanied by pictures, but apparently blogger is feed up with me right now. Maybe tomorrow?

Soon (in like half an hour) it's only 12 days left until me and pup goes to south Sweden to visit pup's betrothed and parents. She's even a twi-mom (though she hasn't read BD yet) and I hope I'll like her as much in person as I do in text. I'm getting anxious and have already started to stack stuff for packing. And I admit, there might be a gift or two in said stack, because, well, it's fun.

And last, but not least, a big bucket of puppy-poo for the Philippines Postal Service who's being slower than mail carried by actual snails delivering my package to Honey. And Dimber's is lost since 4 month :-[

pup in hat/pram

I made a sunhat, from the same pattern mom used. It's available online from Ottobre, however the instructions are in Finnish. Not that you need them, at least I didn't. Maybe that's why I had to cut up my seams... (I forgot to mount the cords to the ear-flaps)

We've upgraded the pram from the bassinet to the seat-part, because after riding around in the Trekko for a week with great view even when laying down someone wasn't particularly happy to lay down in the Edge and don't see a thing *eye roll*

grand(mad hat)mother

Don't have much to write, posting some pictures instead...

Yesterday this was the sight that greeted me in the bedroom when I went inside to pick up Pup... Teddy-bear wrestling, puppy style...

Sleeping oh so sweetly in the pimped out pram =)

Dragon wrestling (he seems to be quite the little wrestler...)

And not only does his mother entitle herself with "mad hatter" (currently prepping fabric for some more hats) but his grandmother likes hat-making too. She's made this one and also sewed herself some surgery hats to wear at work, admittedly they look a lot more fun (kiddy prints) than the disposable ones.

capped hatter...

Ah, yes... I decided to try and make a cap...It's a year or two too big on Pup, but that's OK, I didn't make it for him. It looks a bit funny as his head is so small. It looked both worse and better when I tried it on myself. The cap is soft (made out of a sort of foam) and the lower edge has rubber band that keeps it all together. I figured a tying-cap might not be the best solution for someone in the I-can-do-it-myself age...If the intended recipient don't want it (I'll make her one from her color of choice and), I'll have a competition with it as price. Sounds good?

The mommy-group met at our place today... 12 mom's and their babies, ranging from 3 to 7 months old. Since I'm posting this pic, I decided to disguise them all. One mom was changing diapers and two were on their way, and I'm behind the camera. Cramped, but very fun! I'm already looking forward to next weeks coffee-date with the mommy-gang

mad hatter + mad hat pup...

Walpurgis Night/Valborgsmässoafton (I admit, I had to google it) Didn't get a pic of pup by the fire with his grandma, but I guess she's just happy for that. He was content in the den for a while, then he wanted up...

Afterwards he snoozed a few hours under granny's stair. In granny's old wagon.

Of course the hat is a bit big *eye roll* but it looks worse than it is. The pic don't really show the top correctly either... But it does show of the downright handsome droolie I made him. ♥ green

The last attempt at a helmet-hat. It came out a little small, but fit perfectly in every other way, so now I can OK that pattern.
As before, apparently my hats make puppies mischievous and bouncy...

the mad hatter accesorises

the yesterday hat+droolie comboI'm totally loving the side of the hat that is white with just 4 figures on it =)
And had I sewn with red thread, it would have been a girly hat. Ninna loves unisex that's not boring, and especially when it's this cute =)

crafty... ish =)

I know I said mad hatter post, but I failed. Instead I finished up the curtain I need for tomorrow, patched up a teddybear and did some other sewing as well.

Yesterday was spent at mom's. Here's pup sleeping on the porch. The blinding white in the background is the sea.

I made this one yesterday. It's made out of an inherited PJ that had broke in the seams. I made it mostly to try out the pattern I made. I wonder what it is with my hats that make pup look so mischievous...
It has a little bit of a peak.
and just a few minutes ago I finished the matching droolie. Once more I was trying out the pattern but pup's asleep so fitting will have to wait until tomorrow. It has fleece on the backside. This is a good thing, 'cos at the moment pup drools at the equivalent of the Niagara Falls...

poster boy

Pup poses in his mom's latest creations

The first hat came out "a bit" big (and actually fit around his mothers head)

And the ski-hat was no better, should fit around the time he's 4...

so for the ordered hat the model was slimmed down a bit, still a bit roomy, but that was intended as to last the coming fall as well

the ski-hat was also made in a smaller size and made for a perfect fit, though the cuff around the face came out a bit loose, but not so much to need correcting.

it was actually so much fun making the ski-hats that I needed to make an extra one =) And this time everything came out perfect. Size, fit, cuff everything!
Though this one isn't for my pup, I think that would send his father into cardiac arrest *eyeroll* or at least give him a brain hemorrhage.

mad hatter =)

now I'm done with the extra hat I was making. And maybe I'll do one or two for a friend in the US, need to consider pattern for that one. Hat's are fun =)
All this, 4 hats so far, started with the plan to make one...
The pram-curtains are coming along slowly, but there's only the eyelets left, so I guess it can be called progress.
Tomorrow you'll get pic's of pup-in-hats
