alive and kicking...

that goes for both me and pup. I saw my hairdresser today and just wanted to let you guys know how it turned out. And to let you know I'm alive, but tired, oh so tired... Just a few more days now...

Also a little peeved that so few of 'my' party-guests have decided to RSVP... I mean, how freaking hard can it be? Do they have to wait until the last day? Which by the way is tomorrow...

pup-updates

I realized I've forgotten to mention some pup-events! Bad me.

We're now in week 22. YAY! =)
Last Tuesday (June 23rd) someone *coughPUPcough* found my bladder... I seriously think that is a trick shim could have waited a month or two to learn, if ever!
Tuesday night/Wednesday morning D finally felt the pup move =) He was cuddling my belly when he came to sleep (I had been under for quite some time already) and something "dug" against his hand, just gently. He wondered if it might be bowel movements... Seriously? What did he think I ate for dinner? Live rats?
Today someone *coughpupagaincough* kicked me in the center of the tummy muscle as I was straightening up while sorting. I toppled back forward again. Same reaction as when someone kicks you in the back of the knee. I just said out loud "No kicking!" and Th that was sorting with me laughed at me.

Pup still moves every now and then, just not on 'demand', like if you push the belly, baby is supposed to push back. Well, not pup... Pup ignores any signs of attention and strikes when you're least expecting it.
Next time I update I'll try to give you some nwe belly-shots ;)

busy bee...

that's me this week, and the one to come. ..
  • Monday and yesterday I was at meetings regarding the NWIG2009 all the night.
  • Today I was at Emmaus, sorting clothes that people have donated for almost 3 hours. Totally selfish motive for that one, I need to find me some mama-clothes. No luck today, I only got sacks with curtains, drapes and bed-sheets. And mens wear. Oh well, better luck next time.

  • Tomorrow we're going out to the place that we'll have our party in July, to check it out.

  • Friday and Saturday I'll be spending all the nights (6pm->midnight or 3am) in Bastö, guarding the Country Festival there. Weehoo. D ain't a happy camper about that. I mean, not the event, he'll be there with me on Friday, but the fact that I'll be working as security... I can't say that I'm thrilled either. I'm usually the one who solves trouble, what if I get crappy guards? I mean, there is NO WAY that I'm going in to settle a conflict now, but I really hope I get good staff...

  • Sunday the games begin, and the staff is to be there at 8am. Lovely. Going as head of the security I don't think I can just ditch it either.

  • Monday I've got work between 6am-8:30am and then I'm off to guard the games again, until they're finished for the day, hopefully before 6pm.

  • Tuesday, I work 6am-2pm and the I have an appointment with my hairdresser at 2:30

  • Wednesday, work 6am-8:30am and then the games

  • Thursday, work 6am-2pm, dental-hygenist 2:30pm, and there will be a party for the judo-branch and all workers are welcome as well. Will most likely take all night.

  • Friday, last day at work before my vacation, and when I come home I'll go straight to bed and SLEEP!
I wish I had time to write some, 'cos I really want to, but I can't find the peace of mind to be creative. The dishes are haunting me, I'll ask D if he can do them tomorrow... DARN! He goes to Sweden to shop tomorrow. CRAP! Well, I don't have anything better to do tomorrow night, might as well spend it doing something usefull...

pictures + freaky dreams

So, I thought I should share some pictures from last night; Midsummers eve. It's a big holiday here, one of the few hedonistic traditions the church weren't able to beat out of us no matter how hard they tried. Just to explain the symbolics, we erect a big pole, and decorate it with various symbols to increase fertility in the village. Both in humans (the young men erect it), crops (symbolized by leaves, flowers and the little man with rotating arms. He is specific for Åland btw) More info about poles in general from Wikipedia. And here's the pictures:

So, this is how I look if the photographer is laying in a recliner snapping pictures.Mom's back/side porch. Well, after she re-built the house it's her only porch actually.
The view from said porch. Yes, that is the Baltic Sea, and it was a very green midsummer.Mom chopping away branches in the little passage from the lawn up to the porch.
Midsummer is the time for flowers, so here you go (I'm kinda discovering to use the macro)Down at the flat (släten), waiting for the pole to be erected. D thinks I look pee-needy, I just think I look awful. The carriage in the back was D's when he was young, now his parents use it for his cousin Poppan (that's a nickname) who's three and a half years old.
Heave-ho and up she goes. It doesn't show, but the sea-shore is right behind the dance-course.And she's up! YAY and applause! Dang it! I missed the little man with revolving arms when i snapped this. I'll find you a picture, HERE! Ours is prettier though (duh), the crown (that's the colorful diamond shapes at the end of the horizontal sticks) at the bottom right is the one me and mom made. It's supposed to be a project for all the women in our part of the village, but mom was so swamped with work this last weeks that she did most of it herself when she had a moment to spare. And as always, I think ours is prettiest, even as we're stuck with making one in the Swedish colors. We do however cheat and add red in the tails and flowers. We're the only ones to make flowers. The others had really sloppy tails, and one didn't even have a bottom tail! *shock*D's dad danced around the pole with Poppan (that'd be they guy with white cap and the girl with red pants) looking so lost it made us all laugh like crazy. It's tradition to do that. (dance, not looking lost) Later on, even D's mom danced a little *impressed*
and now to the Freaky Dreams...
1. Last night I was in the delivery-ward. I was there because we had gone to the emergency room since my cough for the last week just kept getting worse, and I had probably gotten cold during the outside celebrations. Then my labor had started for some reason and they admitted me. So far so good. I was anxious but figured they'd fix it. Then one of the nurses came to adjust whatever it was that was behind my back and said "So, there, this is sure to speed things up, you'r baby should be out in a jiffy."
I freaked. I'm in my 21st week, my baby can't survive yet. In Finland they do try to save babies from week 23 and forward, but before that it's a miscarriage. I got hysterical, and they just kept telling em to get over it, that the labor must have started because the baby was dead, so it was just best to get it out as soon as possible. I remember D asking me what we should name it and me telling him we wouldn't get to, because it's not considered a baby before week 23 and therefor will not even be buried, only disposed of. I also remember the pains/labor ceasing and nothing happening for a really long while, except a lot of angst, and the nurses checking up on me sighing and complaining about my pigheadedness. I finally fell asleep from exhaustion.
When I woke up in my own bed, I wondered if they had let me home since the labor had stopped and it took me quite a while to come to my senses enough to realize it had been a dream. FREAKY!
2. I fell asleep again, and this time it wasn't as real, I kinda knew somewhere it was a dream, but still. I was at an airport, going somewhere, and pup had been born just the day before. I had the hardest time maneuvering both a luggage-trolley and the carriage at the same time, and I when i went up the escalator with the luggage somehow the carriage traveled halfway up the side-by staircase on it's own. But the pup was OK, so I payed it no bigger heed, I was a little late for my flight. When we were seated I got quite annoyed with the pup, shim had been sleeping since birth and I had yet to see his/her eyes (I also didn't know the sex for some reason, it was just my baby) but I couldn't make myself provoke shim to wake up, it felt cruel. just as the plane taxed out to the take-off zone, pup squirmed and opened a pair of baby-blue eyes. And was HUNGRY!!! Last memory is breastfeeding pup and being totally blissful.
Not so freaky, but still weird somehow.

I have not had any dreams of pup/pregnancy before, not that I can remember at least, so I don't know what it means. I guess it's 'cos I passed the half-way mark the other day, I officially have less days left than has passed. To be precise 137 days left, and 143 down.

so much love...

Seriously, thanks for all the love I have received as comments, e-mails and posts after my last post here. Like Becca said, I'm hard scaled with a soft inside. I don't particularly like being vulnerable, and for some reason, pup has made my soft spots multiply like crazy.
I wish I could have told that fat hog to butt out, but I just couldn't. And that description really is accurate, and I think that is the main reason she cannot phantom how I cannot get enough exercise from 1-2 hour walks every other day.
I spoke to mom about it, and it turned out, she don't like this nurse either. Funny, my overall experience was that most people liked her. Now, I don't like her as a person, and not how she handles her profession. I feel no support from her, and will rather turn to the net with my questions. Not that I generally have had much luck with that, I ask too strange questions =)

So, to lighten up the mood, I promised a funny episode from shopping. First though, I'd like a moment to appreciate pup and all the benefits of a bump. I wore a striped halter-top, that really boosts the bump, and well, I kinda let it out. I don't do that at home, 'cos I look about 2 more month along if I do. But everywhere I walked, people would let me pass, everyone was friendly, the guy at the food service offered me more food than the portioned bits that were cut up and so on. And have that evil nurse, we walked the streets of Stockholm for 6 hours (OK, so we stopped a lot, to try on things and once to eat, but still) and I wasn't even tired. Seriously! OK, I was tired, but that was all in my head. My legs, my back, my muscles all felt fine.

So, to the funny thing. First shopping stop was Carlings, a trendy stor which mostly carry mens wear. D had told me to go there and buy myself a hoodie and stop stealing his... But it's so nice... It's a thin college fabric, the un-fluffy kind, and long, so it (usually) covers my butt. The only wrong is the color, it's gray and orange striped. So not my colors, but he loves it.
I couldn't find anything quite like it, well, one in the female section, size S... and it fit! It was supposed to be oversized, duh, and now I need to remove the pockets because they are horrendous! And I bought a black hoodie with a loose checkered pattern of white and red 'chains'.
When I came home I showed it to D and asked what he thought about it:
D: It looks good, really nice!
Me: Good, 'cos I'm making a trade! You get this for the one I keep stealing.
D: OK *laugh*

I love him!

Yesterday I woke up with a sore throat, and after some thinking decided that there would be no clubbing last night. I was a good girl and in bed before 11. Did me no good, today I also have a cough! But I think there will be clubbing tonight any way. I need to move my fat butt a little, and there is no more fun exercise than dancing.

I'm getting so frustrated about there being no mama-exercise available during summer that I'm even (loosely) considering going to the newspapers, they don't have anything better to write about anyway, and see if an article there would lead to something. I mean, I could lead a mama-group, I'm fairly sure of it, I've herded unruly sheep (aka humans) before, but then I wouldn't get the exercise I need... If I could only find participants and a leader/coach I know the location wouldn't be a problem, we have a whole freaking dojo that is not in use over the summer. Sure, they're prepping for the Natwest Island Games right now, but still, they don't train constantly. But I don't know... I just don't know.

I had a bunch more to write, since it's been a few days, but E just called and asked if I wanted to join her downtown (like we had one, and I don't live there already) for ice cream. I never say no to ice cream. But first I need to hang the second batch of laundry for the day, first went in at 6 am, then I went back to sleep =)

OH! and on the topic of the upcoming games, I'm appointed "head of security" for the Judo competitions... Lovely, well, I guess I know how stuff works, and it don't mean any extra work for me, so it's OK, really.

too heavy...

that's the verdict the nurse gave me today. I got my fill of weight-nagging for this month. I guess it finally struck a cord with her when I told her that I'll gain weight if I can't train ordinarily, so what does she think I'll do when I'm preggers?
I seriously don't "feel" her. It's nothing in particular, but I kinda feel like I don't trust her with my pregnancy. Too bad she's the only one, I can't really change.
Got to hear the baby, today the pace was a bit slower, only 145 beats/minute, but much stronger. Pup is growing, and was kicking the diophone *LOL*
She completely told me to just lived with it when I tried to tell her how anxious I am about maybe not having D there when the baby comes. Said "that's the life of the seafarers wife" BITCH!!! Seriously, I know I have a more than 50/50 chance of doing it without him, that's the reason I wanna know as much as possible.
Work was slow, so I quit half an hour early, deciding to go home and get started on the invitation-cards for the summer-party. Got home, looked at the sink and saw how D had left the used filters on the counter instead of dropping them in the compost-bucket, which he had moved, and they had tipped and spilled... It felt so unfair that I started crying. Why do I have to clean up that mess, I don't even drink coffee... I was moping when I went shopping, when I got home, when I began writing the cards... Seriously, it doesn't feel like a very good day today. And tomorrow... Tomorrow I have an appointment to the dentist to fix a few soft spots in my teeth. Then after work I'm going to mom's place to help with the midsummer-crowns. They are diamond shaped, almost a meter high and we hang them from midsummer-poles, which mostly resemble the masts of (old, sailing) cargo ships. Tradition...
That's the reason i need the card done by tonight so I can mail them tomorrow. I wanted them mailed 1½ weeks ago, but I felt no inspiration for cardmaking, so I had to find cute, pre-made ones. That ain't easy! Still took forever to write in them, 40 all in all. Don't have the addresses for half of D's friends, but theu're not too panicky to invite ither, I mean, they're boys, they have no idea how long before a party you're supposed to get an invitation.
I had a pretty funny story to tell about my shopping-spree in Stockholm yesterday, but I'm way too tired now. Maybe tomorrow or Friday, if I feel better. It involves bargaining and bribes, that's what I'll tease you with ;)

baby blues?

Can you have that before the baby is born? I'd rather have that than my usual mopeyness. Just feeling low today. Or, today? I felt fine at work, I think. I guess I just don't like living in town, and having nothing to do. I am not made to be forced to be indoors.

And it seems like even my personalities have had enough of me, since for once I'm feeling lonely in my head. Strange. Usually there is always someone there willing to talk to me.

Printed another picture of the baby today, so that I can bring it with me when I go to Sweden tomorrow and show it to everyone I know. I use a printed one since the ultrasound-picture is so fragile and I wanna save it for the baby-album. No, I don't have one yet, but I'm in no hurry.

I wish my pup would kick me some more, then I wouldn't feel so lonely...
OK, I'm ending this never ending mopeyness post right now.
I miss my Becca-boo...

name generators *sigh*

got pulled in...

generator used: Rum and Monkey

My dragon name is Ortinbras the Harmless one (Green Dragon).
Take Dragon Name Generator today!
Created with Rum and Monkey's Name Generator Generator.

YAY! I got green dragon! SWEET! I don't know about harmless though... but I guess I can be a bit deceiving whereas appearances go...

My Twilight name is Renesmee Swan.
Take Twilight Name Generator today!
Created with Rum and Monkey's Name Generator Generator.

hm... I guess it's nice, I get to keep Jacob forever =)

Is it very obvious I don't want to attend my chores?

seduction of innocent souls...

Yep, that's been my business this morning, when I didn't do my best to avoiding cleaning and the dishes and the vacuuming... Successfully I might add...

And what are my means of seduction? Fanfiction of course...
DUH! the most addictive thing invented since chocolate and the Twilight-saga... Even recommended Wide Awake, although I'm not so found of it myself. It's well written and have a good storyline, I just don't think it's my kind of unicorn shaped cookie (yes, pun intended).

Now I'm going to go and check up on the fic's that I do follow addictively, yes that's right, the ones about the pack-boys... Sweet cheeses, so many hot muscled up boys, so little reading time ;)

well rested!

I had a great, long sleep last night! Kinda needed since I had about 3,5 hours the night before *eyeroll* due to a clubbing incident... But it was worth it!

Went to Sweden with mom yesterday, just the short day trip. Had my contacts in, from clubbing, and they had promised rain so I figured I'd keep them 'cos rain and glasses aren't a very good mix. HA! Clear blue skies with occasional white clouds. Lovely. While wearing these contacts I have now, I'm very sensitive to sunlight. Didn't take long for the migrain to begin it's pounding. Kept up all day. But it was manageable, much due to using shades.

Got some shopping done for the upcoming party, but I couldn't find any invitation-cards, so I'll need to find them on Tuesday when we go back to Sweden, but to Stockholm this time. I believe it'll be me, mom, E and A going. And D has his day off, so he'll be spending the day at home, sleeping.

I bought a SodaStreamer, that was planned. Elgiganten had them for 699kr according to their homepage. When we arrived in Norrtälje, only Coop were open, and there, in the middle of the appliances department, is the same I'm going to buy, at club-price 595kr (ordinary price 695kr) and since I'm not in the club, I skipped it. Figured I'd buy everything at the same place, 'cos we needed extre bottles and some flavoring too. HA! When Elgiganten finally opened, they were out of that one. The cheapest one was 799kr. I went back to Coop, and for some reason the cashiere sold it to me for membership price! YAY! =D
Fells nice! OK, so it's just like 10€, but still. The cheapes available here is 89€, this only cost me 54,66€ (checked the bank since I pulled it on my electron-card)
Didn't get me any shoes, were hoping to buy me some new MBT-shoes, since my old ones are completely worn down. That shop was however closet because Sweden celebrated their national day (equal to independence day). One small shop was open, that sold bags. I found the cutest little white one for me. I have been in need of a white bag for a while, I don't have one and it bothers me. I mean, it's no fun dressing up prettily and then don't have a matching purse...

weekend =)

So, how do I top the last post? I don't think I'll even try...
I mean, a pic of the pup, does it get better than that? Would be holding the pup then, and that's not happening for quite a few months yet (hopefully), since we do not want a prenatal baby.

Just got out of the shower, can't remember when I showered last... I remember showering last Saturday, but I sincerely hope I've done it since...
Right now I'm feeling hot and clean. And smelling of coconuts, due to the conditioner.

Tomorrow I'm going to Sweden just for the day with mom. I'm being companion so to speak. I don't really have anything I need to shop, that comes next week when I go to Stockholm. Then I'm finding me some mommy-pants. Other from that I have no plans this weekend.

But I should:
-do the dishes
-vacuum
-get my big butt back in the writing chair. I've totally neglected my readers lately.

I saw a pup and I loved it...

So, do I need to spell it out?
We saw the pup yesterday, so this whole post will be puppy-talk...

First we were being all well mannered pup and really showing ourselves to the doctor. Having our heart in the exact right spot for him to see perfectly... All clear on the heart, as far as he could see now. The to measurements. The pup (and yes, there were only ONE!) still was on best behavior and stayed still so that the Dr could get good pictures to measure. All good so far. Then we got to see the results, which said that baby was due October 31st. OK. But... then all the results were gone. Freaking disappeared into the computer... And to the good doctors defence I just wanna say this:
There wasn't a panel on bridge of Enterprise in the latest movie that had a that advanced control panel as the ultrasound machine... Seriously, I think you could launch a missile with it without much modification.
So he had to measure it all again... Not that we minded, it meant more time watching our little pup in action. And now there were action. Just like daddy, we play nice when we have to, but if some one screws up, we get cranky... The legs were pumping and kicking, the fists were flying, really trying to fight off whatever it was that just wouldn't stop bothering shim. The new measuring resulted in a due date of November 4th, so I think I'll keep rolling with the original 1st, since it doesn't really matter.
And just like daddy, when the time came to smile for the camera, for the picture mom and dad got to bring home, we refused to play along. Previously pup had arched nicely, showing a perfect silhouette, with the spine and all, that classic ultrasound picture you know. Now we refused to keep our body parts together enough to be in the picture... In the end we got a frontal shot, it was the best we could get, and well, all I can say is that there's no doubt this is daddy's pup...

Also, the tummy is beginning to pout some, but not much. I am however keeping my tummy tucked in, like always, it's the only way I know how to do it. I was always drilled in the mantra "back straight, tummy in and chest out" and I just cannot sag, even now, without it being incredibly uncomfortable.
And as far as party clothes goes, I can still use some of my old ones. This I wore last Saturday to my smallest cousins party. She Graduated our equivalent to high school. I told you, I don't look preggie, I just look chunky... By the way, picture taken on mom's back porch.
