Day 06 – My day

First out I wanna say that pup is a far better alarm-clock than any other, mainly because he is very loud/persistent and he does not have a snooze button. My phone does. Snoozing is niiiice =)

Then I went to fuel my car, to my horror the price had rocketed from a bloody 1,399€/liter to mindblowing 1,469€/liter OVER NIGHT! Why the heck didn't I fill up the tank yesterday?

Picked up pup from mom's, where he's been sleeping for 2 nights, and dropped him of at daycare.

Got to work in the nick of time, and first thing the boss wants to have a word with me. Will not say why, since it also contained a reprimand about what I "say" online.

And just before lunch daycare called. We "had" to come pick up pup, he was sooo sick... Fine, I called his grandpa, who was already going to pick him up at 2:30pm, and take him to the hospital for a check-up (since the couch hasn't eased though it's been a week since our last visit) and he and D went to pick pup up. Thing was, when I called them to say grandpa is coming the manager starts dwindling on about how sick pup is, it's obvious to anyone, he's been like that all day, ever since morning (funny, he was perfectly well though a bit hoarse when I dropped him off) and it was probably pneumonia going on...
At that point I got mad. I hate how she plays that game, to upset the first time parent. She mummbled about it when D picked up pup too, and when D said "Well, I think his grandma, who is a NURSE, where he's been staying the last two days, would have noticed if he had that" she just slipped away very swiftly...

Anyhow, the doctor said pup was perfectly fine. Couch does not equal sick and there was no reason whatsoever to why he couldn't be in daycare. HA!

Tonight my car got sold *sniffle* We got the amount we wanted, though not what we had it in the paper for =) A bit of a trick, to leave some space for haggling =) But I kinda miss my car. It stung in the hart to see someone driving off in my car. But she seemed to like it, and it's by no means a party-car since it just don't have a powerful enough engine. It feels good, but still... ah, you know... It didn't feel this bad when I sold my first car, because I already had this one, and they were pretty much the same. My first one was a -87 Corolla, so I traded for bigger space and younger car. Wasn't suppose to sell my car then, but we couldn't get the other one sold so...

Now I have a few things to fix before going to bed.

Day 05 – What is love?

A night at the Roxbury with Jim Carey
this was seriously the first thing that popped into my head when I read this headline.

Love is a many facetted thing.
The puppy-love I fell when watching my son is awesome, and it's self-evident in a way. It's just there. I'm never surprised at how much I can love him, I'm honestly not, because of course I love him that much. I've never ever doubted that for a second.
Then there's the love for my decadent, non-cleaning husband, who fits me like a glove (continuing the Carey theme obviously) It's not head over heals all giggly in love (any more), but as much as I can imagine myself living without him, I don't want to. I wanna grow old(er), senile and incontinent with him.
And the love for my mother, sister and her kids is also a very own kind of love. No matter what they did I could not stop loving them, though I might despise an action (yet to happen by the way).
And the love for my friends. Ah, this for me is the most complex one, since it contains a variable of uncertainty. I have been (badly) let down by (very close) friends, and is in such matters a very scarred and scared little child.

Day 04 – I ate this today

*LOL* of all the days to do this...

Breakfast: I had a bowl of yogurt+müsli and some (x-mas)ham sandwiches.
Lunch: there was a Pirkka (low price brand) hamburger and some cherry tomatoes and a quarter of a cucumber.
Coffee: Glogg (mulled wine) x-mas tarts and ginger bread hearts
Dinner: Our freezer-lottery (aka picking a unlabeled  piece of something) turned out to be a choice as bad as the snot flavored beans mentioned in Harry Potter, being something hubs had put in there, hoping I would eat it when he was away... It went into the bin and we went to Hese (hamburger place, like McD, Burger King and such) and ate the special, which was double chicken. Slimy but satisfying, as Pumba would put it

Day 03 – My parents

My mom, Ragnhild, was born in 1954, her mother working in a small countryside store selling just about everything, and the family living on top of the store. Her dad was sailing the seven seas, and they were building a house in town. When they moved there grandma started working at the bank and granddad continued to sail the seas.
My mom educated herself to be a surgery nurse, with the specialty of anesthesia, and is currently the boss of the operation-ward here.

My dad, Lasse, was born in 1940, at a coastal guard station as his parents were on their way home from the mainland. Grandma worked in a utility store (though in the back of my head I remember them selling food as well at some point) and granddad was the local chief of police. In their house in town there were two cell's in the basement, this was before the police station was built, and all transfers to the mainland were kept there in the wait of transit. My aunts have told that when the prisoner was escorted by two policemen they knew it was someone who'd done something really bad.
I don't know how he slipped down that road, but my dad worked as a entrepreneur, blasting stuff up, like mountain and stuff, when people were building houses.

He and mom met when she needed a blast job for her weekend house (that is now her permanent house) and well, you all can figure out how it went from there.
Unfortunately my dad silently slipped away in September 2000, shortly after his 60th birthday, after a long struggle against cancer. The last weeks before his departure he had been unconscious due to pneumonia.

Day 02 - My first love

I don't know, does this mean puppy-love or "real" love?
Oh, heck, I'm going with first-first.

He was taller than me and blond, and really really kind. He always stood up for me when the other kids were teasing me and I loved him hopelessly, he was the best looking kid in kindergarten.
Like three or four years later I was confronted by some popular girls in my class, that had been to another school for a disco the previous night. They seriously accused me, asking how in the world that handsome guy could have fallen for me. Well, heck if I know. Apparently that had been the first thing he said when they said what school they were from, "Oh, that's where Linda goes". They were quite shell-shocked =)
He is now a local soccer celebrity.

Day 01 - About me

Linda, aka Ninna, turning 27 in 1½ week.
Mom of one-year-old Pup, wife of D, who has the indecency of being 24.

I like to read, do counted cross-stitch embroideries, surf the net, write, train Judo, sew and to take long walks and bike rides.
None of the above I currently do on any regular basis (or at all), mainly due to Pup, but secondary due to me only doing stuff in periods. And right now I'm in a long "in between" streak. I suppose if there was time/energy some interest would get the upper hand, but as it is I'm just struggling along with day to day life.

I'm totally average length, being 167,5 cm "tall" I am at the exact grade point average. I weigh way too much for my height, but cannot find the inspiration/energy to do anything about that either. All I do is aqua gymnastics once a week, and that's more to keep my shoulders working than anything else.

I wear glasses or contacts, but have started to consider surgery/laser treatment to correct it. The only downside is it's so darn expensive. Though using one day contacts isn't cheap either, and those are the only ones my dry eyes accept without trouble.

I "stole" this from a blog I follow, which means I'm gonna blog every day for a month...

♥ first birthday ♥

 I can eat myself, I can =)

Open wiiiide =) and if you wonder about the stain on his forehead, look below...

I know there's still food in there, I just got to get to it...

 nom nom nom

wonder what mom said when she said she made me to bathe, I was ever so willing...

 behold the curls =)

 November 9, 2010 first birthday
 Hmmm, green...
best gift ever, was more fun that the paper and ribbon even =)

Godfather gave pup a tractor (I don't know why blogger flips some images)

 the cake

Grandma and grandpa gave pup a phone, as seen it was popular, he wouldn't wait until I got it out of the carton before he began playing.

 mighty fun

If anyone was dubious as to where I shop the majority of pups clothing, I've now applicated it on one sweater =) There was a workshop, and all volonteers got t-shirts, so I made pup a sweater as well =)

Mom, I'm gonna call my girlfriend, could you please leave?

Standing is also very, very funny

and since someone is a bit of a tippy-toe stander, he's now wearing shoes at daycare. Inherited ones, about 2-3 sizes too big, but still works because it's such a great model.

gah!

I'm going insane!
For the third night in a row, aka all the nights D's been gone, Pup's woken up 3:30-4 am and refused, screamingly, to fall asleep again.
So I begin my days with being screamed at.
And then I go to work, and so far the boss have been down to chew at us before morning coffee (which is half an hour into the workday) every day.
Lovely.

bye bye baby

*sniffle*
my little pup isn't a baby anymore. It feels kinda sad, my little nuffy-puffy.
I tried singing birthday songs yesterday, but I kept chocking on tears. Monday was the best day though, I kept watching the clock and remembering what I did that time (since pup was born on the Monday)

I have some pic's of yesterday, but since D is away, I won't post them until he's home and has gotten to see them, I feel like he has dibs ;)

the pictures, as promised

Peek-a-boo was followed by roaring exercises...

Mom, I'm not quite sure that piece goes there...

*translation* I'm just not sure this is done properly, best give it a good whack.

Oh well, it seems like it passed quality control anyway

Added some hooks I bought from work when I just started there, 6½ years ago, figured we needed more hanging posibilities

Perfect =)

Hey mom, it's still fun, even though you stuffed it with clothes so the walls don't sound awesome any more

TADAA! The dark bedside table is going up to the attic when pup's asleep.

early bird...

4:30 was the rise-and-shine time set on the puppy alarm...
Since I was in Sweden on the Sewing Festival (a BIG sewing fair) yesterday, pup was home with D. So far, no biggie, but pup had been a real cry-baby all day, so I figured we might as well get up. We played peek-a-boo (pup in play-pen an me surfing next too it) and around 6 he got breakfast. After that we assembled the wardrobe I bought at IKEA yesterday (uhm, yeah, the buss took a trip there for those who wanted to), I assembled while pup read the instruction and the took on the quality control....
I have pictures of it all, I'll load them later today.

dentist app

Wohoo, or what do you say?
Now, don't get me wrong, I really don't mind going to the dentist, but since I'm going because I know I have a major hole (the side of the tooth have caved in) I also know that this check-up will be followed by a repair session. So today might not get that expensive, but the one after will. Especially since I'm now too old to use the public health care dentist, I have to go private *shudders at the thought of the costs*
